More Organization

Organized dies

I love being organized...and sometimes I even have organized chaos...ha!

Yesterday I showed ink pads, blends etc. organization in my studio. I thought I would share how I store my dies and embossing folders. I love this big heavy wire basket, I think it is from a locker or something, I got it antiquing. I leave my dies in their original envelopes, and usually add a piece of magnet sheet, I have shown that before on my blog here.

Organized Embossing Folders

We used to have these tins in the catalog and they are great for the embossing folders. I just use a label maker to put names on everything to make it be easier to find...and they are sorted alphabetically.

Organized cupboard

They fit perfectly on the shelf beside the basket. The shelf holds some of my embossing plates and other doodads.

I will share more of the studio as I get it more put back together and sorted after Jeff finishes his last project.

Have an awesome Wednesday and thanks for stopping in.

Amazing Birthday Diana Gibbs

Gosh I hope I didn't show this card already. This is one from my Class in the Mail ~ Amazing Birthday that I did a while ago. I have a box of cards that I pull from for my posts and it was still in that box so me thinks I did not. If I did I apologize but it is super cute and maybe you are a new blog reader so it will be new for you. If you are a new blog reader, welcome I am glad you are here. If you have been reading my blog for a while, I am super glad you are still here, I appreciate it so much.

This was cased from Nance Leedy. Thanks Nance!

So the other day I took our taxes in to get done...ugh, I take them to my old boss who I used to work for before I became a full time Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. My friend Teri took over my job and it was fun seeing her and we had a great lunch after my appointment which was so nice to catch up with each other.  After lunch I headed to a couple antique places, I am on the hunt for some old suitcases to store stuff as well as put my kits and cards for sale in and when I did my class at Suzi's she had this old wire milk crate on the wall above her loo holding toilet paper and I thought what a grand idea. So lookee what I found (didn't find any suitcases)...

Milk crate loo decor

...Jeff thought I was nuts but he hung it up anyway. I said wait till I decorate it.  The old cigar box holds woman things that I can not wait to not need anymore...nuff said. He said it looks good now. What do you think? Should I make a banner? What would it say? Please put the seat down!!

OK so I guess repurposing is not a word cause it underscored it in my blog title...oh well you know what I mean right? Find a use for something that it was not intended for.  If you have followed my blog for any length of time you know that is one of my fave things to do, especially if it involves antique shopping.

Today I had to go pick up my glasses, I only had them a month and I had a big old scratch right across the front so they replaced the lenses, there is a new-ish antique store not far from there so I thought I would zip over.  I have been trying to find something to put my Blendabilities in, in fact I have been carrying one around in my purse sticking it here and there when I think something will work, and today I found it.

Pop box blendabilities storage

It's an old Coca-Cola box and works great, it not only holds my Blendabilities (don't judge me by how many I have...I am a little addicted to them) it also holds the Stampin' Write markers, my Memento pads and refills too! There was another one there too but it had smaller holes and wouldn't work, I was tempted to get it too in case I found something for it later but I didn't. Might be kicking myself later but oh well, I find the smaller holed ones more than the bigger holed ones. These are also great for punch storage if you are out looking for something for them...but a tip always either take the item you are looking for storage for with you or at least measure it and take a ruler...ha!  The Blendabilities marker was small enough in my purse so it was no biggie to carry around.

What do you like to shop for and repurpose?

Have an awesome Wednesday and thanks for stopping in.

Tonight I had a charity auction with Quarters for a Cause and this time it was for a young man named Jette Davis who has Ewing's Sarcoma, he is only 14 and is for the third time fighting this disease. It was a packed house that is for sure, I sure hope we reached our goal. I do one of these events a few times a year, it is great to see everyone, and I love being able to help when someone needs help.

Here's my table decor.  You can bet no one else had these placemats (I just cut up some of the Sweet Sorbet DSP). Look how cute those gift bags are too.

At Leadership we got a little sneak peek of what was coming in February and I knew I wanted extras, aren't they cute?

Here is my display table, my poor banner does not look as cute here as it does on my hutch, but I wanted to show it off.

Remember I picked up this cute blue suitcase when I was antiquing? Look how cute it is with the Paper Pumpkin kits in it.

Well this old gal is whooped, I gotta get me some shut eye...oh wait! wait, I gotta show ya.

Look what I got today. The green one is the one I showed you the other day (I still don't have the heart to crack it), but today I got another one and it looks more blue.  Sweet!

OK, now for real I am heading to bed. Have an awesome Thursday and thanks for stopping in.

Petal Parade Michelle Last case close

Well the Spring Fling supplies should be arriving any day, plus I figured my new sun glasses would be in today too, they always call on I called my Bestie Rhonda and said "want to do some antique shopping while I wait for the doc to call?" The antique shops are like a block away from the eye doc. She said "sure". So we met and had a fun day, it sure went quickly, didn't it Rhon?

Here are a few of my finds.

005 copy

A cute blue enamel handled bowl for cards, the one I had there before was a Christmas bowl so now I can put it away. I loved that this still had the sticker on it.

006 copy

Don't judge me by the amount of Washi Tape I have...ha! Look how cute this metal dish is that holds them all. I had them in a glass jar and it was a pain in the butt having to pull them out to get to what I wanted, this is perfect.

My first piece of Ironstone pottery. I saw some others that I would love to have gotten, but I am starting out small.

A cute little suit case, Rhonda actually pointed it out, I had looked at some and they were so stained and gross inside this one was so clean and I just had to glue it in a few places, plus the vendor was in the booth and even gave it to me cheaper without me even asking. Toby is checking it out, we keep his toys in a smaller one in the house, so not sure if that was what he was looking for. I will  hang a cute banner along the top and have my cards for sale in the bottom when I do my Quarter events.

Closed with Inspector Toby still checking it out. Ha! I also got two white little suitcases that I am still undecided on so didn't take pictures of them yet. Rhonda said she might take them off my hands if they didn't work out for me.

So Rhonda had a shoebox swap the other night and the swap theme was Sale-A-Bration so I had to case this cute card by Michelle Last, she had different colors done and I liked the blue the best. Thanks Michelle!

Well this old gal is actually going to turn off the studio lights, sit on the couch with her feet up and watch some boob tube. Do we even say that anymore, or am I really dating I had to explain to Rhonda today what a chamber pot was (we actually used one at Poppa and Granny's when we were younger).

Have an awesome Thursday and thanks for stopping in...oh and my sunglasses did not come in...grrrr...
