The other day I was talking about the crazy weather and I mentioned a haboob, lots of wind and dust and hopefully it ends in rain. So this year with all the rain we have also seen tons of toads, and I mean all sizes. I have never seen so many toads and little ones too. These are like a poisonous kind to dogs, they swell all up and put out a toxin and can kill your dog or make them very sick. Our neighbors old dog used to lick the toad and then he would just stare at the wall for a long time.
So anyway…I guess this is a full circle day…years ago when Jeff and I were just dating we were carnies…yep…carnies. So we winter quartered in Florida to fix the rides etc. The little house our boss let us live was pretty run down but we were young and in love and didn’t care where we lived..but one day as I was taking a shower, there was something on the wall (I think I have told this story before) and when I looked at it closer…it looked back…I screamed…it jumped down out of the shower and out the hole in the floor…that day Jeff said I was going home till the season started up again. My prince looking after his princess.
So back to full circle…I was showering this morning and Jeff stuck his head in and said “there’s a toad in the house” and I was like “OMG! wait I want a picture” so I threw on my bathrobe and got some pictures.

Jeff was like “don’t let it get behind the tv”. So I took a couple pics from far away. Sorry they are blurry.

Then Jeff picked him up with a paper towel and he put him in the yard.

All safe and sound and he better stay outside too. I am so glad that Toby is no longer with us as he would have been chasing the danged thing and maybe would have gotten sick.
I am also so glad that Jeff was home and not at work or that thing would have sat under a cup all day till Jeff got home to let him out. Give me a lizard anyday, but not a toad…or a spider…or a snake…or a scorpion. Tell me again why we live in Arizona? Oh yeah we don’t have to shovel sunshine.
So you might be saying “do you have holes in your floors still?” no, but I swear Jeff and Eric go in and out of the house at least a hundred times a day, and when it is raining and storming Jeff goes out even more and I am always saying “close the door, get in here!”
So full circle right?
So that is my story today.
