We are having the inside of the house painted starting Monday, well not the bedrooms or our master bath or my studio as they have been painted before, but the rest of the house. So we have everything off the walls and some smaller pieces of furniture moved into the bedrooms. It looks like we are just moving in. Blinds and curtains are off the windows as we need to replace the blinds…no walking around naked…ha! Eric came over and asked when we were moving out…it sure looks big and empty. It will be so nice when it is done. I am not sure if I will hang everything back up the same way, and definitely not putting as much stuff above the kitchen cabinets…what are your thoughts on that? Do you have stuff on top of your kitchen cabinets? In our old house there was a soffett or something there so was not possible, but when we built this house there was room.
Here you can see after we had the kitchen updated last year the stuff up there………..hmmmmm…..I definitely am not putting it all back…just not sure if I want to put anything or just some….decisions, decisions.

Hi! Just want to tell you that we had the shelves over the cabinets. We call them the dust and grease shelves. We found them impossible to keep clean. We have a lot of them all over our current home, but we gave only put a few larger statement pieces on them. Much easier and really, less cluttered. Very glad we decided to do that. Good luck with your decision.
Hi Lanier, That is what I am thinking, just a few bigger pieces up there will be enough….I agree the stuff we took down from there is dusty and greasy…yikes…we are pigs….they are painting now…big hugs, Di
