Climbing Roses Beauty

This 'n' That

11 Jan

Climbing roses www.stampingwithdi.com Diana Gibbs

I showed this card quickly in my Teach Me Tuesdays video the other day, so I wanted to share it up close today.

I can not get enough of the Gingham DSP, eek!!! Love!!! I am a sucker for gingham anything.

So ugh, look at my naked fingernails…I had been trying some nail strip things and not sure they messed up my nails or the 100% acetone remover that I needed to take them off, but either way I am trying some repair polish to help, but I hate them not polished. So then I think do I go and have them polished with gel polish? But isn't that bad for your nails too when they remove it? Ugh…what do you use on your nails that works? After going many years with acrylic nails and taking forever to get them strong I don't want to go through that again…although some days when I look back at old pictures and how pretty that french manicure is…oh I get tempted…and I could use a pedicure anyway…ha! I know TMI – ha!

Ok enough nail talk back to the pretty card.

I love this card, Di! You do such a beautiful job coloring. Also, I like your natural nails. Guess I'm just too much a child of the 60's, but I like natural best. You have such a sweet, outgoing nature, you don't need "fancy" nails!

Thanks Connie, my Mum emailed me too, liking my natural nails. I guess when there is polish I see it and when they are not, I notice how old and wrinkly and crooked. Hugs, Di

Does your nail place do the dipping??? I was talking to one of the ladies that used to get acrylic and gel and she said the same thing – when she was done her nails were not strong underneath – but she says the dipping does not make them weak.
She says she can go a month in between dips.

Hey Jax, the actual dipping or even the gel polish is not what is hurting your nails it is the removal of the products every 2 weeks or less to redo them. I am going back to nail polish and will get a professional manicure now and then. I have been doing my own for years but just recently tried the nail strips and the removal with pure acetone is what has damaged my nails…my friend Terry that does nails was the one that explained it. That is why she hates using gel because of the damage between coats to remove. At least with acrylic you are only getting fills every so often so it is not totally coming off your nails every 2 weeks. Ok if anyone goes a month between nails their nails look like crap if it is colored polish…cause that growth is ugly, I go a week and that is all I can take because of the growth at the cuticle. Love ya, Di P.S. Yes I am anal when it comes to my nails!

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
