New Hearing Aids Time

This 'n' That

17 Jan

So today I went to pick up my new hearing aids, I had them ordered at the beginning of 2017 but they had a temp person working there and she had the benefits all messed up so when I went to pick them up the real guy was working and they were super expensive and I was like "this is not what I was told" so they apologized that I was told wrong and I sent them back.

So after such a crazy medical year, scorpion sting that I found out I was highly allergic to and all the other issues with my throat etc. by the time the end of the year came around I was able to order them again at a reasonable price.

So now I go through getting used to new ones.  It is similar to new glasses you need to leave them on and get used to them, taking them off and putting your old ones on does not work.  Although now I have a back up pair when I ever have to send these in for a check up.  I do feel they need to be turned up as I feel like I am shouting to hear my voice, and I can do that with my phone or a little button on the aids, but the Doc wants me to take them on a test run for 2 weeks and see if I turn them up a lot and if I do when etc.  Then she can adjust them accordingly in 2 weeks.  They have a different dealie bob that goes around my neck to connect to my phone, that is way smaller, and does not make me look like a football coach like my old one, it was so ugly…I mean people would go "what is that?" and I would say "I'm the head coach for the 49ers" OK I really didn't but still it was horrible. So if you see me and I am like saying "huh, what?" that is why…ha!

Mel and I

So before I went to the appointment I met my sweet girlie girl Mel for a birthday lunch, I was gonna drive the next time we went out so she could go for a ride in the Green Hornet (she calls her Dusti – since I live in the desert and she does get dusty), but she had to get back to work so she got in and checked her out anyway before I headed to my appointment. I had to show her how cool it looks when I call her on the phone…

Mel on phone

…I told her it was like she was watching me drive.

Next time we will go for a spin.

So I was gone most of the day, it was dark when I got home anyway.  No stamping got done at all.  Toby is getting older and he has belly issues (pancreatic or something) now and then and this morning was one of them…not a fun way to start your day…you can read between the lines what I had to clean up.

I did meet Mike and Jacque and picked up some delicious tamales for supper on the way home, still warm even…yum.  So all in all a fun day just not a lot of work got done…although Jeff and I are registered for OnStage in April. I can't wait to see everyone.

Hi Sandi, Thanks, I do think they need to be turned up, and sometimes the phone is hard to hear. But so blessed I can hear at all. Big hugs, Di

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
