What does that saying make you think of?
Well when I saw the above framelit set, I did not see a straw, not sure if it is the Canadian in me but I saw a hockey stick, and pucks.
My in-laws were here for a while so I took some time off from work to enjoy their visit, we don't get to see each other very often. This idea was rolling around in my head though. Now that they are gone I got my framelits out to play.
Hockey stick and puck supplies. I glued some of the Wood Textures DSP onto Whisper White Thick Cardstock before I ran it through the Big Shot, I wanted it to have wood texture and the cardstock gives it some weight.
I cut some strips of Basic Black cardstock as the "tape". You can see the hockey stick and puck in the background.
I added adhesive to the back of the strips and laid them across the bottom of the stick and the top as a handle. Make sure to use your Silicone Mat so you can lift the hockey stick up later as the adhesive will stick out and be a little messy (if you just use the grid sheet it will stick). Lift up and trim edges.
Here are the finished pieces, I trimmed off the rough edge of the bottle top for the "puck" and I added some details to the hockey stick with a Real Red Marker and a Basic Gray Marker. Gotta have CCM on the stick right? Are they not adorable?
Come back tomorrow and I will show you what I did with these cuties.
Oh and don't forget this framelit is part of the "Bubble Over" bundle that is my Class in the Mail for January. You can also order the framelit separately in my online store.

What a great idea!! Totally thinking outside the box. These are so cute. I can't wait to see what you make with them.
Genius! My set arrives today, can't wait to try out this idea. Will have to make two sets, one Canadian for hubby and one Detroit for me :). TFS Di ~ xoxo
Love it, Diana! You definitely have an artistic eye. Your hockey stick/straw reminds me of a poem that I had my students read each year titled The Voice You Hear When You Read Silently. The point is that our own experiences affect our perceptions. Here's the link: https://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-voice-you-hear-when-you-read-silently
