Just Calm Down

Birthday Delivery Puppy Diana Gibbs

I can barely type from tears of laughter.

So I always print my priority postage at home and then there is a place to request a pick up.  Been doing it for years...years! So yesterday I had my parcels ready and it was about 3:00pm and they still had not been picked up so I called the PO to see if they were late.

I asked if Carl was working today and the girl said she thought so but had not seen him, she wanted to know if I needed to talk to him. I said no but I had priority parcels that I needed picked up and it was 3:00 so I just wondered if they were late. Then she said oh he probably had a sub.  So then she put me on hold. Then she came back and asked if I had filled out a pick up form and I said yes on line when I printed the labels. Then she put me on hold. Then a guy came on and asked what I needed. So I said that there was a sub today for Carl and I wondered if he was late cause I had priority parcels to be picked up. Then the guy was like well we have two different stories going on don't we? and I was like what? he said the postman was here at 1:00 and there were no parcels. I said I was home all day, did he knock, and the guy said he looked at all three doors. I said well I don't leave them outside, they always knock on the door. Then the guy was saying calm down, and I laughed cause I was calm, and I said I just was calling to see if my parcels were going to be picked up. I told him that at none of the doors was the piece of paper that said attempted delivery or anything. He again said to calm down, and he was going to put me on hold so I could. So if anything my eyes hurt from rolling around in my head. Later I told Jeff about it and he said maybe there was people listening and he wanted to make his self look good for calming me down.  When he finally came back on the phone, I think he wanted me to hang up, he said a guy would be by in 25 minutes to pick them up, then he described the guy and the car since it was not a USPS vehicle and the guy would not be dressed in USPS clothes. It still makes me laugh, sorry if you are a USPS person, I know your job has to be hard but I hope no one really gets upset with this guy or he will not be able to handle it. Who says working from home and being your own boss is not exciting?

Ok enough of that how about a quick cute card...and video.

Birthday Delivery Chef - Oo! La!La!

Birthday Delivery Chef Diana Gibbs Stampin' Up!

This little chef is so cute, and he makes me want to speak french and bake. My Granny was the best cook and I remember we would want to taste stuff as she would bake. So she would give us a taste of something and then we would say "we didn't taste it" so she would give us more, this went on a couple times and finally she would say "you better taste it this time cause that is all you are getting".  I remember one time she was baking and I thought she had melted chocolate and I was like "oh let me have a taste" and she was like "you won't like it" but I harped at her and finally she gave me a spoonful...and it was molasses!! Blech! She was such a fun lady and I miss her so much.

This would have been a great card to send to her. I stamped the chef and colored him with an aqua painter. Then he has a matching framelit and he was cut out lickety split. I stamped the greeting on the card and then I stuck him on with dimensionals so it looks like he is writing the greeting with the icing. Fun eh? I love the black checkered floor cause that would be in a bakery right?

You can't get the black and white gingham paper yet as it is from the holiday catalog...it starts on September 1. So close eh?

Whistle While You Work....

fussy cutting Christmas in the Making Diana Gibbs

...or fussy cut while you think. I just love her, with a cute little hair cut and poofy dress. I get my love of fussy cutting from my Granny, she loved to cut stuff out too. She also had a hiatal hernia so looks like she passed that on too.

So I had my EGD thing today, so last night I sat with the TV on I am re-watching Breaking Bad, that way I don't have to totally be watching it the whole time.  I cut out almost all of these cuties (50 in all).

I was a bit worried...I mean I guess anytime they put you under...even if it is twilight sleep or whatever they called it. Ya think what if they slip up, what if something goes wrong. So I told Jeff if anything really bad happened...just put me down. That sounds morbid I know, but quality of life to me is more important than the quantity.

But it was over quickly, the IV was the worst of it, that always hurts like bad. I have rolling veins, and they look big but they have channels or something. It will be a nice big bruise tomorrow. Anyway, I was back home in a couple hours, so glad we have a hospital by us.  They did take a couple biopsies and I need to go back in a week to see what they say. They mentioned GERD (which I knew) and gastritis, which is a new word.

So enough horrible medical talk. I need to get back to finishing these swaps so I can get them in the mail tomorrow.

I'm No Mrs. Cleaver

Christmas in the Making Diana Gibbs

I remember growing up I watched Bewitched, I can't remember when I saw Leave it to Beaver, I think I lived in the states by then so I was older. But I remember loving Samantha's cute clothes, her little peddle pushers, tops and dresses and I thought when I grow up I want to dress like that. Well styles are kinda like that with capris and all, but I sure never look as cute as she did.

I also don't dress up all fancy like Mrs. Cleaver, although I found the cutest dress at Steinmart and it is a weird hem, past the knees on the front but then it goes ankle length on the back, I ran errands today and I got so many compliments, so I am pretending that they were thinking like I did when I watched TV...hey I want to dress like that.

Anyway, I have a couple swaps that are due, and this set in the holiday catalog named "Christmas in the Making" called to me when I saw it...I mean open line, coloring, and well the images are adorable. I picked this set to use for the swaps and here is my card.  I saw a cute card on Pinterest by Janneke de Jong, she did a different set, different colors etc. But I loved the layout so thanks Janneke for the inspiration.

I won't put a supply list because you can't order any of these items yet.....well that is kinda wrong, you can totally order these items in your Starter Kit, the ultimate bundle of all, I would love to have you join my team, no matter where in the United States you live.  I have Di's Country INKers all over the states, so you would fit right in.

Well Tuesday I go for an EGD to get this hiatal hernia figured out. I am ready to be better, this has been going on since February, when my doc said it was allergies. I can't sleep worth a hoot, I need to sleep on an angle and that is just not comfortable and this throat nonsense is for the birds. I am hoping it goes off without a hitch and they figure the next step to see what kind of surgery I might need.
