So you are thinking what? Does she have a sink full and counters covered in dishes? Nope!
I have this danged belt buckle (I'm down almost 9 pounds and need to wear a belt – yay!) and its perfect size and my short height makes it perfect to get stuck in between the counter top and the above part of the fake drawer fronts under the sink. So last night I am doing the dishes and I got stuck. Jeff came home from work sick, so he was drugged up and sleeping, Eric was in his room watching TV. So I was moving up and down and back and forth trying to unhook the danged thing, plus of course my shirt was caught too. If anyone had of looked in the window they would have wondered what the heck I was doing…it was not attractive. After about 3 minutes and some cursing, and a big hole in my shirt from the pointy thing that goes in the belt hole (yes folks technical names) I was loose. I think I better wear an apron or Medieval chain mail when I do the dishes from now on. Geesh!! Not as exciting as the potato bag story I know, but still things that make you go…cripes!
We have been having our backyard landscaped and I wanted to show you some before and after pictures. I love it. Still lots of dirt, we do live in the desert, but I must admit I have missed looking out at grass.
Here is before the landscapers came…Jeff started to remove the rock and I said lets get a quote. Jeff does not work weekends anymore, he was beat by the time Monday came around when he did…so when I saw him out hauling rock I was like "I thought you didn't work weekends?" This was harder than if he went to work. So we called a local landscaper Dave with DT Landscape LLC and their quote was great so yay!!!
This was the first step, removing the rock, putting in the sprinklers and leveling the ground, and they also had these orange strings to make sure the bricks would go in even and straight. Should have seen Toby stepping over them…like it was a laser beam…too funny!
Yesterday they came back and finished. Boy to have grass in our yard…other than weeds, first time since we moved out to San Tan Valley from Mesa, like 19 years maybe? Almost like Canada right?
All done…so nice eh? We can't walk on it for a couple weeks I think Dave said, but I can't wait to get my toes in it.
Oh and look how nice at night, with my Parenthood Braverman backyard inspired lights.
So nice, now to enjoy the cooler temps before 115 hits!
I'm getting ready for my retreat so will say see ya later for now. Have a great Thursday and thanks for stopping in.
Wow, your yard looks so great! They did a nice job. Did you think about putting fake grass in there? No upkeep. I think it's pretty expensive though. I'll soon find out because I'm going to see if I could put it in my front yard. There's just a very small v shape there and I haven't had luck yet either with rock or plants.
Fabulous that you lost 9 pounds. That''s like a bag of potatoes and that's a lot! I had to laugh about the belt though. Diana, you need a dishwasher!
OMG! – The yard looks awesome!! Belt story reminds me of an un"dress" story – you were stuck pretty good then too -ha! xoxoxo
Hi Debra, No we have Toby so I am sure real grass is better, plus the sun would probably fade it to nothing. We do have a dishwasher but this was just a short little amount of dishes. Ha! Hugs, Di
Hi MAMMa,
OMG! that is right…me and clothes eh? Love you, Di
You are so silly. Yard is looking good.
Hi Sandi, I didn't feel silly, I felt mad…especially when I ruined my shirt. Yes so pretty eh? Hugs, Di
That looks great!!!!!
The grass looks awesome too!
The Braverman's would be proud!
Hi Jax, Thanks, can't wait till you are here to see it in person. I think the Braverman's should come and see it! Love you, Di
