I thought today would be a great time to show some of our Hawaii pics when we went to the USS Arizona Memorial and USS Missouri. Going to the USS Arizona Memorial was such a sobering experience. I will never forget it.
Pulling up to the Memorial.
It was so eery being able to see the ship under the water.
I could not tell what this was it was like glowing under the water.
All the names on the wall. I bought a couple books while we were there, I am horrible with history and this made me want to read more about it. Listening to the stories and seeing the pictures in the museum.
We met one of the last (I think they said there were 8 left) of the soldiers that was on the Island when the attack happened. He was so sweet.
Jeff listening to the stories narrated by Jamie Lee Curtis. I wish we had of had more time so I could actually be standing where I really needed to be as the talking was going on
This is the Tree of Life.
Looking across at the USS Missouri that we would have supper on the last night of our trip.
A nice welcome as we got on the ship. We could not take stuff on the ship, no purses, big cameras things like that. So these pics are off my phone.
Of course later I thought I should have had Jeff kiss me like this and take our picture too.
Jeff on the ship deck.
Look how big these guns are? Jeff and Deke wayyyy back there.
Wendi and I visiting after our supper. Love her!
They lit the ship up at night, it was so beautiful. Look at the size of those bullets. Here is the last pic we took as we headed back to the bus to go back to the hotel, we needed to finish packing as we left the next morning.
Have an awesome Monday and thanks for stopping in.
