Class in the Mail – Love is Kindness
When I updated my blog look I also realized my About Me was boring…and I try not to be that way…
…this is what it says now…
"I am a Wife and a Mum! I am Canadian but live in Arizona. I met my husband Jeff at the Edmonton Klondike Days in 1983, I was working in the Ontario Pork food booth and he worked at the Haunted House. He came up to my booth to order some schnitzel on a bun and it was love at first sight, even though he had bloody horror makeup on. We have been married since 1984. We have a very special son Eric who was born in 1988. With Eric's special needs, being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator was the perfect job so that I could be at home when Eric got home from school and still earn money to help with the household budget.
I have been a Demonstrator for almost 16 years now (time sure flies when you are having fun) and it has changed our lives so much. I never imagined that I would be able to get up and talk to people, I am deaf and wear hearing aids and so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me, but put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone. Being a Demonstrator has allowed us to travel to so many places we would never have gone. I have met such amazing life long friends over the years because of these little rubber stamps.
We live on almost 3 acres in the Arizona desert and we have some fun critters. Our 7 year old Yorkie-Poo Toby, RIP Sammi, and our 6 chickens, Polly, Aunt Bea, Laverne, Shirley, Rhoda & Mary, and 3 ducks Phyllis, Georgette & Edith. RIP Gertie, Alice, Clara, Stella, Maggie and Fiji.
I would love to have you join me in my studio some day for a class and meet some of the other stampers who share my passion.
I am having so much fun, I love my job!"
…what do you think?
*******************
So speaking of life long friends…most everyone knows Jeff and I go to the Daily Bread Bistro every Friday for supper. Well Friday Eric got home from work and he wanted to go with us. I called ahead to see if the carnitas were ready, we have gone for dinner too early before and the supper menu is not always ready, so that is why I called, Jeff really wanted the carnitas. They said yes they were ready so I said cool, we would be down. I did not realize till later that Jeff was trying to stall. He was out by the chicken coop, then he had to go in his shop, and I am like "let's go!!"
When we started to drive near the parking lot I could see it was packed, I saw a car had even parked in the field next door and the people were walking over. I was like "oh no we are going to have to sit outside", we always like to sit at the same table in the corner, so we pulled up and I jumped out before Jeff even had the truck turned off and I said "I'll go try to get our table", so I went inside and I think I looked to the right and saw people were sitting at our table, and then my eyes looked straight and I heard "Surprise!"
There was so many people, it was my 50th Birthday surprise party and it definitely was, a week early! Jeff, my Bestie Rhonda, Lisa from the Bistro, even my neighbor Emily made a cake. I was like how did they do this and me not have a clue. OMG! and those people that were walking from the field? It was MAMMa and Vinnie, I didn't even realize it…heck I even saw our neighbor in the parking lot and thought nothing of it, nor did I pay attention to the cars in the lot that I should have recognized. I was so determined to get our table…ha! is that a funny ha? or a sad one?
My sweet sneaky men, even Eric was in on it. Jeff and Rhonda were telling how he showed up at her house after work one Saturday and said he needed help planning a surprise, he said he knew he had to do it a week early or I would figure it out, so the scheming began, secrets texts between so many people and Jeff was like deleting them after they came in. What a guy eh? Gotta love him, he is the best!
Emily made the funnest cake too.
Look at the grave already dug…ha!
I about caught my hair on fire there was so much heat coming off that cake.
I tried to blow the candles out as careful as I could…no spitting allowed.
So if you ever want to surprise someone let my hubby know he is a pro.
Thank you so much for everyone that came it means the world to me, I love you all.
Have a Happy Easter and thanks for stopping in.
If anyone deserves a surprise 50th birthday party it is YOU! I LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK!

Oh, what a great surprise! Big kuddos to Jeff! It's clear that he loves you so much, and those chicks and ducks have pretty fancy digs because of him. I visit your blog every day, and I love it all — your creative talent, stories about your family, your stampin' family, and the pets! So much of your personality comes through that it makes me feel like I know you!
I hope you have an "Amazingly Amazing" birthday!
Hi Debbie,
Thank you so much for saying that, when I started my blog years ago I thought what would I talk about? And then in between the stamping I just talked about what was going on in my life. It's like a hockey game right? They play hockey in between the fights…ooops my Canadian is showing.
I am so blessed to have Jeff for my husband, God made me a good man that is for sure. I love him so much.
Have an awesome week. Hugs, Di
