We moved the babies in their bigger brooder into the big run tonight, I thought hey I would catch the chicks first (they can fly and I was afraid of that…they are about the size Fiji was when we got her from getting lose somewhere) and then the ducks would just walk out of the brooder and they would be easy to catch. There I go thinking. I have duck scratch marks on my arms to prove it was not as easy as I thought.
But we did get them in there. Will play it by ear before I let the ducks out to mingle with the big girls. Jeff will add their pond to the run on Saturday so the big girls get used to it being there. Should have heard Polly squawking when we added the brooder.
Will be anxious to see how they do tomorrow, we did it right before dusk so the big girls were not in the run long before they headed off to roost for the night.
Have an awesome Friday and thanks for stopping in.
now WHY weren't you filming while you moved your babies; I bet that was hilarious!!!!! Hopefully you'll record a bit while they are getting used to everything; I'd love to see……
because it was all hands on deck….Jeff would have not been happy if I had of been filming and not helping, it took the two of us to wrangle..is that the word…the ducks up to catch them. Hugs, Di
Hi Di. I enjoy your blog. I was just wondering where you got that great ink storage unit? Thanks!
Hi Sue, Thanks so much. I got that probably 12 years ago and it was on clearance at an office supply store. It was shown on the box sitting on a desk and holding staplers and office type stuff, it does work great. Hugs, Di
Thanks Di. It's always great when you can use something for crafting that was intended for a different purpose. It was nice of you to reply. Have a great day!
Hi Sue, I love to re-purpose stuff, especially antique stuff. Have a great day too. Hugs, Di
