So God was watching out for the girls today…okay maybe not God, but perhaps God has a farmer helper that was…anyway…for about a week or so I have been letting them out for a few hours to free range around the yard, dig up the bugs and eat the weeds, they love it. Well today I was extra busy and forgot so when I went out to do it later (they might have only had an hour), as I was walking to the run I could hear them hopping down off their roosting bars and coming out of the hen house and I thought that was weird since it was still daylight, then all of a sudden two pit bull boxer dogs come running up to me and they were trying to get at the chickens, I was like who the heck are these dogs. So I hollered at Jeff, they were not mean dogs, they wanted to be petted, but still if the girls had of been out, they would all have been dead. So I was feeling so blessed cause I don't even want to think about that. So Jeff walked them down the road as they were the neighbors down at the end. They were not home and whoever left last did not latch the gate so I will tell them tomorrow to be careful from now on. I think the free ranging is over for a while.
Have an awesome Friday and thanks for stopping in.
oooo… can't wait to see your presentation! 🙂 And so glad your girls weren't hurt! Last year our neighbors' German Shepards broke out of their yard and nearly killed our tiny fur baby Scarlet. So scary when that happens – so glad nothing happened!
Hi Amanda, I hope it's good! Yes I would have been so sad if anything happened to them, it is bad enough when they die of old age but to be killed by a dog…ugh. We talked to the neighbor and he apologized. So glad nothing happened to your Scarlet.
See you soon. Hugs, Di
Wish our neighbors had apologized… instead they called the cops! And we ended up adopting a puppy from it… It's quite the story! 😉
