The Summer of the Ducks is offically over. My good hubby has been asking around since Dewey has been missing and he found out today that when she was flying (I guess Huey was with her when it happened) they landed in the hunting dog run and they got her. The neighbors tried to save her but it was too late. Then Jeff was talking to other neighbors and they found duck feathers, and well I don't want to know anymore, so the duck pool is emptied and I will keep the fond memories with me forever. Maybe Dewey's eggs will hatch, and if not I have not decided if I will get duck babies the same time I get chick babies. I know that if we had of clipped their wings this would not have happened. But even though they lived here pretty much all the time, they still were (in my head) the neighbors ducks and they liked to fly off, and I feel that them being able to fly and get away from a predator on the ground was why they can fly right? It was just unfornate that she landed where she did…so I am not going to blame myself and think that they are now in duck heaven together. The girls are probably happy the ducks are gone because they got to run around the yard for a bit tonight digging around for bugs and they could not do that when the ducks were here.
So when I was at convention my dear friend Mary Polcin gave me an amazing swap of a black and white class so we did some of her cards for Fall Fest and just added red here and there. This is one of them. Thanks Mary so much!!!!
