R.I.P. Clara

This 'n' That

6 Sep

038

Clara has not been herself since Monday, she was not getting around well, she would scoot herself around, she could not stand up very good. I would put food and water by  her and she would eat and drink. She stayed on the ground all the time. Well this morning when I gave her her food, Stella got territorial over the food and was actually pecking on Clara's comb and I was like no way, she could not even defend herself.  So I put her in a pen by herself with her food and water, but she passed away by the end of the day. She was the ruler of the roost and a tough old broad and she died the same way, I think she was determined not to give up till she had to.

Thanks for being such a good girl Clara, you were loved and we will miss you.

Have an awesome Friday and thanks for stopping in.

    Thank you for sharing Clara, and all the girls, with us since you took them in to your heart. The girls were more than 'just chickens' to you so I know you'll miss her and mourn her loss.

    I'm so sorry! I know how hard it is to lose our furry and feathered friends. They really become a part of the family. Take care and know that we are thinking of you.

    Di, I am so sorry to hear about Clara! I guess chickens don't live as long as our dogs and cats do, so you have to say goodbye much more often with them. That would just about do me in.
    Sending big hugs, Penny

    I don't know how long chickens live. I do know how hard it is to lose a loved and cherished pet friend. You are in my thoughts today, and I hope you know how much you mean to all of us. (Even if we only know you in the virtual world.) {{hugs}}

    Di, thinking of you and the loss of Clara. I'm so sorry to hear. I'm with Penny, having to say goodbye more often with shorter life-spans would do me in too.

    Sending hugs!

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
