Fare Thee Well Love

This 'n' That

13 Apr

My Mum said " Poppa and Granny are once more side by side." I know their souls have been catching up but now their ashes are together.

Granny

This is one of my favorite pictures of Granny, I got it from my sister Jacqui.

Added since original post: My Mum said "I love that picture too. That was taken at Swiss Chalet in London on her 80th birthday with Anna, Jacqui and I, and remember you called Jacqui's cell phone and talked to Mum and wished her Happy Birthday and she was so excited. Despite the fact that she lived for almost 14 more years she really didn't look much different in her pictures."

Both Mum and Jacqui emailed me all the details of Granny's ashes being buried and it sounds so beautiful and they played one of Poppa's favorite songs (below), and I can't listen to it without crying. They buried Granny at 11:11 which puts a smile on my face even though tears are streaming down it.

I know I should be thankful that we had Granny for almost 94 years when so many lives are cut short, my little sister Ashley died shortly after she was born so it is one short life and one long life. But lives that we all miss very much and will forever.

I'll close this post with The Rankin Family singing Fare Thee Well Love. I hope you love it as much as I do. I hope Poppa and Granny dance to it whenever it plays.

Have a great Saturday and thanks for stopping in.

Hugs, Di

You are a sensitive soul, Diana and that is a gift.
My sympathies to you and your family. My "granny"
has been gone such a long time, but I think of her
and miss her all the time. Their spirits stay in us.

94 years is an amazing lifetime but we are never ready to let go, no matter the circumstances…this is where we are grateful for wonderful memories…reminiscing is the next best thing to the real thing…seems to me she had many years surrounded by a loving family…thinking of you and sending *warm hugs*

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
