A couple weeks ago when I was antique shopping I picked up a bunch of little glass salt & pepper shakers. You could do them with any size really. It just depends on how much you want to spend.

I had seen a cute little picture holder made out of one and I figured I could do it myself (well with Jeff's help) and some Stampin' Up! stuff.

So this little guy turned into…

…this little guy.  Jeff cut some wire and curled it for me and he also made one of the salt and pepper shaker holes a bit bigger so I could stick it in there.  I added some black and silver little beads in the bottom and then I added some hot glue to keep the curly thing in place.  I wetted some Pool Party and Vanilla Seam binding with water and crinkled it up in a ball, before it is all the way dry uncurlt it from a ball and it has all these wrinkles in it, then I tied it on the curly thing.  I cut the legs off a vintage brad and hot glued it to the front, then I hot glued a pearl onto the brad.

Voila' a cute card holder, or photo, or business card, or name card, or food dish…you name it.

Well that's it for today.

Have an awesome Wednesday and thanks for stopping in.

There are also many similar new ones sold at big department stores; now all I need is a 'Jeff' to make the curly things! hehe

Very cute idea. I also saw someone use these little shakers for embossing powder or glitter.

What a great idea! I love the little salt shakers and you've made them into something useful, so Jeff can't shake his head too much! LOL

    Di,
    Cute little s/p shakers!
I was in a scrapbooking store where they had filled the little single s/p shakers with different colors of glitter! They were so cute and easy to shake out just a little glitter onto your project.

I received one of those cute bunny cards in the mail today. I had not received a card in a long while and it really made my day not to mention I really thought that card was cute in the picture but it's definitely even cuter in person! 🙂

So, I made one of these and it turned out cute but I don't think my wire is the right gauge. Can you ask DH what gauge wire he used for me?

I have oodles of those salt and pepper shakers thanks to my grams and great aunt. thanks for giving me a new idea for them. BTW… I have the C.U.T.E.S.T S&P shakers in the shape of chickens and they are in a lil red wire holder. They make me think of you.
