You are all making me feel very special and loved, and I wish I could answer you all individually.  I have gotten some beautiful sympathy cards in the mail too. Granny's funeral is Monday and since I am not able to be there, my cousin will be reading a small letter I typed up. They are going to try to have the service taped and I hope they can. I will be there in my heart.

When I was looking around on the internet trying to not really think I found this cute picture on Shelli's blog, it always makes me feel special when she picks a picture to post that I am in.

Shelli's blog
This was the GoDiva swap and we were posing and the Stampin' Up! photographer stuck his head in and took some pictures. In fact he and Julie Salva (who was taking the picture originally) started like a camera dual, I show hope those pictures show up somewhere they were funny.

I will post more pictures another time, I have to hit the hay.

Have a nice Monday and thanks for stopping in.

Make a Wish

Thank you for all your sweet emails, messages, texts and calls, it means so much. I'm a rollercoaster of emotions. Jeff's Mum and Dad got in yesterday and it is so nice having them here. Being able to hug them feels very very good right now. They knew and loved Granny too.

Here's a cool tutorial for you...Thanks to Christina N, a Concept Artist at Stampin' Up! for sharing how she did this amazing card for the Spring catalog, you can see it on page 26. I found the tutorial on www.stampinup.com, they have updated the home page and it changes all the time.

MAKE A WISH CARD TUTORIAL - by Christina N.

I made this card for the 2013 spring catalog. And, since we’ve had questions on how to make it, I’ve made a tutorial.

To get you started, here are some of the things you will need.

1. Take the largest Labels Collection Framelits Die and place it at the bottom of your card front. Using a sticky note to keep it in place, run it only partially through your Big Shot, then roll it back out.

2. Using the Simply Scored Borders Scoring Plate, score along the bottom edge of your card front.

3. With a pencil, trace “Wish” (using letters you have cut with the Big Shot and the Typeset Alphabet Bigz Die) on your card front. Cut out the word using your craft knife. Carefully erase the leftover pencil lines.

4. Using an Aqua Painter, splatter the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol mixture on the card front.

5. Add ticket, “Make a” banner, and the Hung Up Cute Clips arrow to the card.

6. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, add a piece of First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper to the back of the card front. Tie the dyed Baker’s Twine around the front of the card and finish with a bow.

And you’re done!

Together at Last

Img010

Granny is with Poppa now. She passed away peacefully tonight,we should all be so lucky. I wish I could have been there, but my Mum, and Aunt and niece were and I am sure that Poppa was there with his arms open wide telling her it was about time. In fact Poppa died Nov 17, 1997 and Granny died on January 17, 2013 that is a long time to be apart. Even though I am happy they are together again my heart still is aching that she is gone.

I wanted to share one of my favorite pictures of them, this was in 1980 at my cousin's wedding, Poppa with his hands in his pockets bunching up his coat. Granny in one of her favorite dresses.

Thank you Poppa and Granny for all you did for me and making me the person I am today, I hope they are looking down from heaven and I know that some day we will be together again.

Thank you for all your kind emails and messages from my post yesterday, thanks for letting me use my blog like a diary now and then.

Hugs, Di

When I was at Leadership I received so many beautiful swap cards, and one in particular stood out by Lyssa Zwolanek, I love Pool Party, doilies and roses, so shabby. Whatever will I do when Pool Party is gone?? Eeek! Thanks for swapping with me Lyssa.

I changed the ribbon a tad but other than that it is Lyssa's card.

This set's greeting is so fitting. My heart is really heavy right now. My Granny who will be 94 in April is not doing so good right now. I am not ready for her to be gone but at the same time I am happy that she will finally be with Poppa. I hope that does not make me a bad person, my emotions are just so mixed up right now. She misses him and talks about him a lot lately, and Mum says Granny knows she will be in heaven soon. The last time I saw Granny was in 2011 when my little sister got married. I talked to her last week on the phone and it was nice to hear her voice, but she is just so tired. I can't imagine living to be 93 and being away from my husband for so long. I hope that when Poppa and Granny see each other again, they are young and healthy and don't remember that they have been apart all this time. Last night I read till 11:11 just like Granny always did, and I prayed to God and talked to Poppa and told them to please let her just fall asleep and be at peace like I think she is right now, I don't want her getting sick and being in pain, she is the sweetest person in the world and I love her so much. My Mum and sister Jacqui have been keeping me updated all the time. It is hard living so far away but knowing that Poppa is waiting for Granny makes me not scared like when Poppa died, I was so scared that he was leaving Granny alone. He had always taken care of her. I am sorry for rambling on I am probably not even making any sense right now.

I'm gonna sign off and go to bed. Thanks for listening. Hugs, Di
