…or I guess like chickens.
I wanted to show you how the babies are changing.
This is Mork, the little one you got to watch hatch.
This is Chiquita look at how (her?) coloring is changing, I really wish I knew what kind they were, I am going to have to post pictures on Raising BackYard Chickens, they will know.
This is Butterball. You might be saying, how the heck can you tell? Well the yellow ones I can tell by coloring and their beaks. Mork's beak is different than Chiquita and Butterballs.
Little Bub, I can not tell the little black ones apart, they are smaller, and look so much alike I am waiting to name them till later. They are silkies I think and will have feathers on their legs and feet like Fiji. They will be smaller though.
The girls are loving their plants, I can't wait till the weather is cooler to plant roses and grapes too. Here's Fiji posing. My sweet girl, she is still such a love.
Here's Stella my chatter box, up to her ankles in the mud…if chickens have ankles.
See someone needs a bath, and a pedicure.
Well this old gal is off to bed, I have the Christmas Box class in the morning and I have to run to get water before everyone gets here.
Have an awesome Saturday and thanks for stopping in.
Thanks for the update….do love it. We used to have chickens so I am really interested but I know nothing about them!! I too named all of ours..pets, you know.
They are growing so fast!
My family used to raise chickens from Murray McMurray http://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com/standard_breed_chicks.html – they have pics of all the chicks.
Even as hatchlings I do remember that the feather footed breeds are COVERED with thick down all the way down their legs. You would know right off is they were cochins or brahmas.
Your chicks remind me a lot of the Barred Rock and Buff Orpington chicks we used to get in the mail. We always got the heavy brown egg layer assortment of 100. The Post Office loved that one! You would get the call "PLEASE pick up your chickens!" and you could hear them cheeping up a storm in the background.
I just want to say thank you for sharing your chickies. It brings back so many wonderful memories of the farm. 🙂
Well I loved the update on your babies… It really shocks me how quickly they have grown. The wings are so big on the yellow ones. Thanks for keeping us all updated….
