So tonight I feel like a worrying Mum and Jeff is sick of listening to me. We fixed up the pen today for Alice and the chicks after we planted the new plants in the big coop. We were not going to move them till next weekend. But when Alice gets to scratching those babies need to look out, in fact she stood on one little guys feet and he squealed, so we moved them tonight. I made up a bed and put it up off the ground on bricks, it's not fancy, but I figured they would need to be off the ground at night. Well no, she is laying on the ground in the corner and the babies are under her and I am a nervous wreck. I hope to God they will be ok. What the heck will I be like when Eric moves out?

So when I told Jeff I thought we should move them he said it was up to me, so I figured I would just go out and move Alice first and then easily grab the babies…oh yeah that happened…NOT.
I did get Alice first and wow she made the most horrible noise when I took her out of there, in fact she stretched her neck so long so she could keep looking at them, it about broke my heart. So I put her in the new pen, then Jeff put his hand through the back of the pen so they could see it and come towards me but they flew over my head. OMG! three babies running around on the ground. Peeping and Alice sqwacking. Jeff moved all of them, he had to use a net to catch the three that were loose. I couldn't even grab one they were too fast. He didn't even want me to take pictures cause he said "you didn't move any of them" I said "stand out here by the pen holding your net". Like Green Acres…ha!
OMG and Jeff is so mean when he came in to say night, he said "I hope the chicks survive the storm coming in". He better be kidding. Oh no, I went out and saw lightning, now I won't sleep at all.
Sorry for the blabbering.
Have an awesome Monday and thanks for stopping in.
I so hope they survived the storm last night…. And Alice really has been a good mom….she was really ready to be a mom. And Di, I can't get over how big the chicks are in what 2 weeks? Truly is amazing……. Thanks for the update…..
Now I'm all anxious to find out how they all did over night; I hope you remember to let us know!
