…this is a quick post, another storm is rolling in, gonna be worse than last nights, and I don't want to have the computer on.
Some wild dog(s) tore up the Chukar pen while I was gone today. About 15 are gone, 1 is dead. They don't even eat them, they just kill it. This makes me so mad, people let their dogs run loose, but most often people just drop off dogs they don't want. I am so glad that the chickens were not messed with, but you never know.
I would like to put up a gate but I don't think UPS will get out of the truck to open a gate so we have that part open. I told Jeff if he wants to do chukars again, he might have to build a really structured enclosure that no dogs can get into. He said we will see, he is just so upset, I am too, cause I wish I had of been home, and I never even noticed it had happened when I got home as I don't mess with the chukars.
Well this old gal is unplugging everything.
Have an awesome…eeek! Friday the 13th. Geesh it can't get worse than Thursday the 12th right? Oh my gosh did I just jinx myself?
Thanks for stopping in.
so sorry about the chukers, that's just awful!!
stay safe!
Deb
oh man, I'm sorry about you losing your birds. Maybe the ones that are missing will return?. Can you put up a low grade/low level electric fence to keep those wild dogs away. Don't want them near Alice or the babies!!!
Well that sucks about the dogs. The poor little chukkars.
Hope your shoulder is feeling better.
Luv ya
Jax
So sorry about your loss! Take care and God bless!
SUPER SAD to hear what happened yesterday at your place. I am not sure which I am more upset about…..the loss of the Chukars or the fact that people really are okay with just dropping off the dogs they don't want and letting them fend on their own! I know the area that you live and with not too much shade and such a wide open area – a dog dropped off doesn't stand much of a chance to making it. HOW TERRIBLE! Sorry for the loss of your Chukars – Hope you have a peaceful Friday the 13th.
I have to ask…what is a chukar? We have never heard of such a thing.
I'm so sorry, Diana!!! I know these weren't your 'girls' but, still……other people's pets should not become anyone's pests; so true!
