Tracy, Rhonda, MAMMa and I went to see Wicked tonight at Gammage. Tracy has seen it in New York and we have wanted to see it together. I read the book a couple years ago and I am glad I did because with my deaf ears I didn't understand hardly a word anyone said, so I am glad I knew the story.
It did seem a bit different then the book and I found this online about the changes made to the play: "In addition to this change in focus, other modifications include Fiyero's appearance as the scarecrow, Elphaba's survival at the end, Nessarose using a wheelchair instead of being born without arms, Boq having a continuing love interest for Glinda, the complete cutting of Elphaba's years in the Vinkus and Doctor Dillamond not being murdered." gotta love that Wikipedia.
So that being said, here is another short post, it is almost midnight and I didn't get to bed till 12:30 last night and I tosssed and turned till probably 2am, so this old gal is tired tonight.
Tracy and I are going antiqueing tomorrow, so I hope to have some fun things to show you.
Have an awesome Wednesday and thanks for stopping in.
How long is Tracy at your place for?
Luv ya
Jax
Even though I was disappointed with the differences between the book and the play, I still think the play is very entertaining. I do think that people who never read the book enjoy it more. I think if it didn't have a happy ending, less people would see it. Sorry you weren't able to enjoy all of the dialogue. Another great show is Jersey Boys, if you haven't seen it yet. It's a great show for both men and women who grew up on that music.
