Holy Moly, who the heck are those younguns? Hard to believe we have been married for 27 years! It sure went fast eh babe? We got a few more wrinkles, a few more pounds, a little less hair, a lot smaller eyeglasses, but still in love as ever.
Today Jeff had the day off so we had to move our safe deposit box from the bank in Mesa to a bank closer to home and then I said "let's go to lunch at the Bavarian Point". Jeff thought that was a great idea. It first started many years ago, when I wanted to surprise him to an Anniversary dinner. Before I met Jeff he was in the Army in Germany so I found a German restaurant and we went there for dinner. We have gone there almost every year since. We always tease as we drive in the parking lot how our yearly dinner keeps them in business. I don't know why we don't go more often the food is delicious. I think when my BFF Tracy comes we'll have to go.
So I was a dork and forgot to take my camera and only had My Precious to take pictures, but better then nothing.
Jeff ordered an Optimator beer, this is a German beer. The waitress asked him something when he ordered and he answered and I didn't hear either of them, so when it came (big enough to swim in) I was like holy moly look at the size of it. He even got a cramp in his finger a few times from lifting the dang glass. I can NOT stand beer, I can't stand the smell, the taste, anything at all about it, so I always give Jeff a hard time about drinking it. In fact the other day I found this sign when we were antiquing and it all became clear to me…
…it was a lightbulb moment!
Here's me trying to be all cute by the light of the moon mood lighting.
Here was Jeff's lunch, those little onions were scrumptious:
Zwiebelrostbraten
Beef filet covered with deep fried onions
served with roasted potatoes and red cabbage
Jagerschnitzel
Scallop of pork covered with mushroom sauce
served with spatzles
I got the menu off the website, although Jeff does not remember getting red cabbage with his. I love the spatzles. Last time I got a different kind of schnitzel and Jeff got what I got this time and I liked his better so I made sure to order it this time around.
Sorry that this post was not super exciting, but today was such a nice day, and I wanted to share it with you.
Oh and to all of you that have emailed about Toby he is doing much better, thank you so much, and to those of you suggesting I wrapToby's meds in food/cheese/peanut butter…I would but they gave us liquid medicine. In fact I have to soften his food and he loves it, and eats it right up, so tomorrow I am going to try to squirt his medicine on it after it is softened, cross your fingers, cause tonight he actually wore his antibiotics when he moved his head at the last minute. An 8 pound dog is stronger then two grown adults. They make it look so easy at the vets. You'd think they were professionals. They did call to check on him and I did tell them that I wished they gave me pills so they said to give it a day or so and if it does not get better they will see about pills, but he is so little I'd have to be cutting the pills and I can see how that might be a problem so I am hoping putting it on his food will work.
Well this old girl is headed to bed, I was on the computer too much yesterday and my mouse arm is killing me up around my neck.
Have an awesome Wednesday and thanks for stopping in.
Happy Anniversary…..glad you had a nice day and the photo of you is way cute! Glad Toby is better and I feel your pain about the meds, my cat is super hard to give meds too and she's smaller than him!
Deb
Congratulations on 27 years of marriage!!! It is always fun to reminder all the wonderful years and look back to when we all had more hair and larger glasses!! Loved that part…. so true!!!
Sue
Congrats on the Anniversary…27 years is a long time…you must share your secret…
Happy Anniversary to you both!! Enjoy your special day. 🙂
I have yorkies and know how hard they r to give liquid meds. We wrap (swaddle) ours in a towel or baby blanket and they dont wiggle as much. Also when I give them pills I cut the pills in sm pieces and wrap them in a litle braunsweiger and they luv that and gulp it down! Works like a charm everytime. Good luck. Yorkies have teeth problems a lot mainly because they are so bullheaded and stubborn about letting u look in their mouth! Glad Toby doing well. Been there-done that with mine!
Happy Anniversary to both of you! I hope this is just the start of another wonderful year for you. I'm glad to hear Toby is feeling better. Good luck with his medications. And thanks again for the information about pricing the calendar class!
Happy Anniversary! Mine was yesterday. Only 20 years but all great ones. I'm so glad Toby is better. I haven't posted in awhile but I never miss a post. I hope things are going well with Eric. Love the picture of Jeff…I could go for a cold one right now!You always have so much going on. I tell my hubby…now that Di leads an exciting life! :0)
Take care and thanks again for sharing not just your talent, sense of humor but all the day to day fun stuff too!!!
Shirley
Happy anniversary to you and Jeff, Love the wedding photo, you both still look just as happy as that day!
Wishing you many many more
Happy Anniversary Di!! Love the photos!!!!
Glad Toby's doing better — if you do end up getting pills for him, try crushing them in a small mortar & pestle – then sprinkle on his food & stir it in…believe it or not, that's what I have to do with my Tooter's pills! It works if I mix it in with something that has a smell strong enough to disguise the medicine…
Oh how cute. You look even younger now, Di!
Food looks great!
Meatball is on an hypoallergenic diet so we can't give his meds in peanut butter or cheese anymore but my dogs LOVE carrots, so we slit a carrot and put the pill in there!
Hope things get better for the pup.
Happy Anniversary. Just love your blog.
Ohhhhh..

congrat's on the anniversary….always so enjoyable to read your blog and good luck with Toby, my dog was smart enough to eat all the food but I'd find the pill at the bottom of his dish….. clever pup he was….lol…
Happy Anniversary! I must say that I hope that style of glasses comes back:)
I was salivating at the pics of food as Jaegerschnitzel with Spaetzle is probably my most favorite food in the whole world. I don't know if you knew, but I am German and came to the states in 1984. If we ever get to meet in person, can I take you to dinner there?
Again, congratulations on your anniversary.
Barbara
Wishing you a very Happy Anniversary and many, many more of them! :^)
Hugs,
Penny

I know I am a few days late…but Happy Anniversary!
Do you happen to remember what antique store you were in when you saw the alcohol sign? I showed it to my husband and he loved it, it would make a fun Christmas gift for him!
