OMG! How Can He Be 23?

This 'n' That

22 Oct

Yes, Eric turns 23 today, what the heck? Geesh I was 23 when I had him.

It does not seem that long ago that he was:

Eric baby

 a baby…

Eric
…and then a little boy…

001 copy
…so I said "Eric let me take your picture for my blog" and this is the look I got. He was getting his shoes on to go to the football game with his Dad.

So Jeff said "smile Eric or we won't go"

002 copy
So this is better, look at that danged beard, he won't shave it, we think he wants to be Dumbledore. At least we got him to shave the sides of his face. Happy Birthday Hairy, I mean Eric.  We love you!

004 copy
So the guys went outside and I said "hey let me take a picture of you together" Aren't my two men handsome? Cause Eric ain't a baby or a little boy anymore. Although he will be to me.  We had his yearly IEP the other day, and one of our goals is to get him where he can move into a group home. If you are new to my blog, Eric is learning disabled and he also has apraxia so he won't be able to live by himself.  So whenever we talk about him moving out, I get excited sometimes only cause I think , wow that means the guest bathroom will stay cleaner longer than a few hours, or I'll get up and all the left overs in the fridge will not be eaten all up, or I'll look in the freezer and not find empty ice cream bar boxes, but then I also think, oh my gosh, what if someone takes advantage of him, what if someone hurts him, and I get so scared, and think…well maybe pee on the toilet seat is not that bad…well unless I sit in it….ewwww grossss…..but you know what I mean.  I guess all Mother's go through it, but with Eric he trusts everybody, and even though we try to teach him to be cautious he still thinks he is invinsible.

OK enough of my blabbering and blubbering.

Wanna hear something funny?  So the guys are at the football game I ran over to Kohls and Steinmart to pick the guys up some clothes and I figured I'd go through the McDonalds drive thru.  It is starting to get dark so I pull in and stop at what I think is the speaker dealie, and I almost….almost started to give my order…to the garbage can.  Thank goodness I noticed it was not lit up and the menu was up further or I swear I would have shouted into it.  Hello, Hello…..

Well I am gonna sign off and head to bed, I have stamp club tomorrow.

Have an awesome Saturday and thanks for stopping in.

A signature white 5

Where do the years go – In a heartbeat our children go from babies to grown adults! We have done our job when our children grow up to be happy – honest and trusting adults….I think you have done your job Di……WELL DONE! Thanks for sharing not only the pics but a little bit more about your lovely family. (and I have to tell you – I've done the yell into the garbage can thinking it's a speaker number!)

How the heck did that happen? He is 23. WOW. Happy (late) birthday to you Eric. Roscoe said he would be happy to share a bone with you for your birthday. What? You don't want it? He can't imagine this. OK you got a loud laugh from me about the McDonald's story. Maybe it is time to get your eyes checked?

Oh Diana, I am so there with you about the leftovers and the boxes left with nothing in them. Being a mom of 2 boys (21 and 17) It just frustrates me but then I think these are moments that I cannot get back so I just ride the ride and laugh. Your son reminds me so much of my Kyle (that dang beard or gotee) We have what is called ONLY ON MY FACE OCTOBER and now we will have NO SHAVE NOVEMBER. Thanks for the chuckle regarding McDonalds (Been there tooo)

Wow time flies! My DD is 26 and Jeff's son will be 26 next month too. I can't believe that either. Eric looks good with the Goatee. Isn't it funny that our children grow taller than us hehehe. You wouldn't be a loving mother if you didn't worry my friend!

Oh you make me laugh about the garbage can. I can relate.
I can relate to the things Eric does too, those things happen at our house all the time.
I did not know Eric about Eric. I majored in Special Ed. He looks like a sweetie. I hope he can stay with you. I love the photo of Jeff and his son, he looks so proud.
Happy Birthday, Eric, hope you had a great one! I am sure your wonderful mom made it very special!!

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
