Just Believe in Black

This 'n' That

Marcy's card closeup

When I went back home to Canada last month for my little sister Courtney's wedding, Marcy my girlfriend from highschool came to visit.  She brought us Iced Caps, and coffees from Tim Horton's and she also brought home made chili sauce and tarts.  Who makes tarts?  Not me, but I have Granny's tart things and I love tarts, I always eat the inside first with a spoon and then the crust. I swear in Canada people bake more, Granny was always baking, Mum always had some sort of squares ready for when company stopped by.   I am totally making tarts…I am…I'll blog it…I mean you know I will right?  So to top off all this home made with love goodness, Marcy also gave me this gorgeous card. Isn't it gorgeous!?

Marcy's card full

Stamp Set: Just Believe

Paper: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, First Edition Specialty

Ink: Basic Black Craft

Misc: Basic Black Satin, Black Embossing powder, embossing buddy, rhinestones

I had a brain fart on the greeting, but I think it is retired.  Oh and you know what is good about a brain fart?  We are the only ones that hear it.  Ok that is gross, but it's true.

So I was watching TV the other day and this lady took ice cream in the blender, and then she put a piece of pie, I can't remember but I think she added milk too, and blended it up. Hmmmm….let me know if you try it…I'll be baking tarts.

Well I better get off here and get back to work.

Have an awesome Saturday, and thanks for stopping in.

Diane you are just too, too funny. I get such a kick out of your blogs every day. I'll be waiting for pictures of the tarts! That is really a pretty card. I'm so glad you had such a good time in Canada while you were home.

I think I changed your name for you on my last comment. Sorry about that, I just had my mind on your comments…I know it's Diana.

    Hi Diana

I was at a family wedding this week and my sister's SIL went to school with you. Her married name is Blake but her maiden name is Mary L (I wrote down the spelling of her last name but lost it of course). Maybe there wasn't a lot of Marys (LOL)and you'll remember her. Small world.

Well I make Granny's (which are actually Aunt Thelma's) tarts all the time, Joe and the kids LOVE them, and since Joe picks up farm fresh eggs from his work they taste even better. I will admit though that I wimp out on the pastry part and I buy ready made shells from the grocery store. But they taste just as good!
    Luv ya,
    Jax

I really enjoy your blogs, Di. I love using black and I especially love this card. It's elegant in a very simple way and I'll be using this idea for a long time to come when I make my cards. It was fun to read your comments about your trip to Canada and I can't wait to get your tart recipe.

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
