Just a Tweak

Being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

7 Aug

021 copy

Today was my downline meeting (oops I forgot to take a picture of my swap, I'll do that tomorrow). As their make n take I used the make n take packet that Stampin' Up! gave us at convention, I tweaked it a bit by using the markers to color instead of the blender pen and ink pads like was on the instruction sheet.  I explained to the girls that sometimes at a workshop if you have new people, markers are easier to use and faster as well.

020 copy
It is using a note card (it comes with the note card already scored and an envelope).  It was a simple fun card.  Just by using the markers in different shades you are able to get a nice dimension on the card. The marker colors were sahara sand which we traced all the way around the outside of the stamped image before we start coloring.  I always shadow first, this prevents any color bleed. Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, Pool Party, Baja Breeze & Marina Mist

Tonight I played a little bit with adding another color to the cupcake wrapper.

018 copy
I ran the envelope through the Striped embossing folder

017 copy
This used the same colors as listed above plus Certainly Celery, Lucky Limeade & Old Olive.

Of course the card wouldn't be finished without a touch of white gel pen here and there.

I ran some errands this afternoon and did a little bit of shopping I had to get some new jammies for Founder's Circle when we have our swap.  That is such a fun night.  I am anxious to know how many swaps to make, they are supposed to email on Monday, I need to get them done this month as I will be in Canada the week before Founder's at my little sister Courtney's wedding, in fact I get back one night, have one day to wash clothes and pack in order to leave the next day for Founder's Circle so there is no time to do them when I get back.  I don't think we can take scissors on planes still right? That would be cool if I could as I could cut stuff out all the way to Canada…

Well that's it for me tonight!  Have a blessed Sunday and thanks for stopping in.

A signature white 5

Cute card, I didn't get that make and take packet. Was it in the workshops to go kit?
No scissors on carry on. Too bad, you could get a lot done.

I believe you can carry on scissors if blades are 4 inches or shorter.

Yes you can carry on scissors less than 4". Print this out from the TSA when you go and hand it to them. It will stop them in their tracks if they try to give you problems. http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm
However, you will need to keep your swords, ammunition and guns home. I know you are thinking oh darn. I know you really wanted to take that M-16 with the ammunition. Am I right? I thought so. If anyone is reading this from the TSA I really am kidding.
The card is fantastic and I love how you colored it. You are going to be one busy bee soon. Just have fun doing it all.

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
