Tick Tock

This 'n' That

18 Jul

020 copy

When Jeff was in the army in Germany he got his Mum and Dad a cuckoo clock so this image reminds me of that clock. They still have it too.

019 copy

Of course I had to ruffle the ribbon, ha!

021 copy
So Jeff could have sent this card with the clock years ago. I am sure he was missing everyone while he was away.  I didn't know him back then, I think I would have had a hard time being away from him that long.

Well I am going to wrap up my posts and get last minute stuff done for tomorrow, plus Eric is saying "what's for supper?"….remember I am posting these ahead of time before I leave for convention.

***************************************************************************

OK, so here I am quick back from an amazing convention, the best ever!!  And yes, just like I thought,  I am a zombie and as soon as True Blood is over this old gal is headed to bed, but I wanted to show you the newest addition to our family.  While I was at convention, the guy that takes Eric to and from work had a little chicken show up in his yard, so who did he think of first?  Yep, us….introducing…

Fiji – I think that can be a boy or a girl name and that is the next Stampin' Up! incentive trip we are earning so I thought why not eh? I am not sure the breed that she is.

Convention 2011 117 copy
I am really hoping she is a girl, so I have been praying to Poppa, please keep her healthy and let her grow strong so that we can introduce her to the other girls and they become friends.

Right now she is in Sammi's old dog crate so we can keep her up off the ground, safe and secure.

Convention 2011 118 copy
Here I am saying hi! She has the cutest peeps.

Convention 2011 124 copy
See how little she is?  She has furry feet, and the longest beak.  We didn't know our girls at this age to compare.  I need to go to the feed store and make sure I am feeding her the right stuff, and get her a water bottle instead of the bowl Jeff rigged up for her, what a nice guy eh, he set her all up with food and water till I got home.  In this picture she thought my mole was food…ouch!

Convention 2011 127 copy
Here she is going for a little stroll, she even ate a bug.  But I found out she can fly and that scared me that she would get lose and have something kill her, so I have now just been holding her while she is out.  Jeff is going to see about building her a little pen till she gets bigger.

Well I will post more about convention over the next week or so, I did get unpacked, but now stuff is all over the place.  I have to do laundry and get the house back in order.  I have my catalog kick off and stamp club this weekend, so back to work for me.

Have an awesome Monday and thanks for stopping in!

 A signature white 5

Congrats on being in the top 100 demonstrators. I was clapping extra hard for you. Although I had a wonderful time this past week I am so glad to be home. Since I didn't sleep more than 5-6 hours a night and had to get up at 4:45 to go to the airport on Sunday I was in bed by 8:30 last night. I think Roscoe was happy to see me too- he wouldn't leave my side and his tail was just going a mile a minute. He even jumped up on me to kiss my face. This is kind of hard to take since he weighs about 135 or so. Your new baby is adorable. I look forward to seeing your pics of convention to see what I missed. It always seems when I get home that I find pics on the web that I think "where was that, I didn't see it!!" Well welcome home to you and try to take it easy.

It sounds like you had a great time at convention. Looking at this chick, I don't think it is a chicken – I think it is a roadrunner chick. the shape of the head, the hairy feet and the color of the bill. I think it got lost from it's momma. How fun to be able to raise it until it can be let out in the wild (if it IS a roadrunner)!! either way, it is always fun to help raise a little baby SOMETHING, isn't it?? good luck!!

Congratulations on being in the top 100 Demo's, that is just awesome!!

Fiji is a great name for your newest addition. We have chickens and roosters that just wander our neighborhood and I really enjoy hearing the roosters and feeding them when they end up in our yard. Spring and babies are such fun times!

Love the card! My husband has an old cuckoo clock and would love this set. Guess it's on my next demo order now. LOL

Are you sure she's not a bird of prey of some kind? Maybe some kind of hawk or falcon. She doesn't really have the physique of a chicken. I'm wonderin'……

OK….a friend of mine who is a major birder took a look at the picture and said that perhaps it could be a 'scaled quail'. I'm interested to see pictures of her as she gets older. Keep us posted!!

Thanks for sharing the cutie patootie…Should be interesting to see what the rest of the girls make of her when she's big enough to join them. Wonder if her (?) eggs will be as distinctive too. Can you tell I'm hoping for a she in that department so we can see?

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
