Today I had to go to the dentist (yay!!! no cavities) and then ran across the street and picked up two new ceiling fans for my studio. The light pull broke on one while I was at convention so instead of trying to mess with replacing the switch I opted to spend some of my #30 Demonstrator of the Year bonus and buy new ones. I wanted to find shabby chic but that was not happening, so nice white fans is what they will be.
I took my hubby Jeff out to dinner to the Deli so he will install them tomorrow…he reads my blog every morning, so this is fair warning as to what he will be doing Wednesday when he gets home from work…oh and we need milk…ha! Just kidding. The rest of my moolah will go towards bills, I have to be sensible. I mean Stampin' Up! is my full time job and my income, but I like to get a little something to show for my bonus, last year was my big girl camera, this year ceiling fans, ain't I hard to shop for?
I had to share the awesome Founder's Circle purse I got. Of course I was all giddy and didn't even stop to pose with it, unless it is on someone else's camera.
Here it is beautifully hanging on my tv…ha! It is hard to tell but it is a champagne color and totally my style, and I love it. It did have a big black bow tied on it, and well…I took that off…
I love the polka dotted lining and the infamous rubber Stampin' Up! logo. Whoever choose these for the bags this year. Kudos! Hurray! Way to Go! Excellent choice, and all that!
I wanted to show you a few people pictures…some I took and some have been emailed to me. These are not in any kind of order, it is just the way my computer has them sorted.
Here's Susie Wood, Meg Daves, and myself up on stage for…not sure what? Sales, or recruiting…how sad I can't remember. We went up a few times.
I love this picture. This is Barb Stencel one of my downline and the sweetest funniest chick too. I had made reservations the night we got to Salt Lake at Benihana's and this was the first time I met Barb, but it really felt like I knew her forever. Not everyone could make the dinner and luckily MAMMa took pictures as I didn't take my camera…I'm a turd.
This is Kristen Isaacs another one of my girls, and it was so much fun finally meeting her, I felt like we had been friends forever too. Her airline had her all over the place, so she missed the Benihana dinner, but we made up for it the next night eh girlfriend? Kristen and Barb roomed together and had a blast, I love it when people click and don't clack.
Look at the cute shirts that Maria Kosturik and Kathya Hidalgo had made. These girls are my downline too and such fun. I can't wait to see you two at Fall Fest!!
This year Stampin' Up! had a first timers walk on stage and that was so much fun, there had to have been thousands walking across the stage. I got this fun picture of Kathya, and the sweetest girl ever Donna Pratt (she's one of my girls too) as they walked up stage. Donna hurt her knee before convention so had to take her walker.
Here's Kristen & Barb ready for their on stage debut…not the last one I bet.
Here is Melissa Miller & I, with our matching t-shirts. Melissa and Rhonda room together and I am sure they have a rip-roaring time.
Speaking of Rhonda…how freaky is this…
Kimberly and Dale told Rhonda that they had seen a girl that they almost tapped on her shoulder thinking it was Rhonda, and then realized she was not. Well Rhonda told me this and the next day I was walking with MAMMa and I said that has to be the girl, and I stopped her and took her picture. Then I forgot about it. So when we were in the airport leaving who should be walking by me but Cheryl, Rhonda's twin. So I called Rhonda on the phone and said "where are you, your twin is right beside me" so they finally met…they say we all have a twin somewhere…this proves it.
Here is Ann Clemmer and myself, we were next door neighbors last year at Founder's Circle, she is quite the character, and a hoot.
Becky Roberts, Jenn Picard (Artisan Award winner) and Kim Sinclair, aren't they all beauties? We went to Ruth's Diner the last night we were in town and took pictures out in the parking lot. Some crazy guy tried to get in the picture, and we just pretended to think he was funny, while we were all kinda scratching our heads about it.
Becky, Kim, moi & Sandra Farrell, she also won Artisan Award this year, and we were in their room checking out their Artisan swaps.
Barb, me & Kristen, last night in SLC, getting our last hugs in before we all see each other again…at Leadership right girls? Love you both!
This is one of my favorites. MAMMa and me. She was nervous about rooming with me cause she snores a little, and I was nervous as even though I am deaf I hear Jeff snoring and have to wear ear plugs. I don't think MAMMa would appreciate the little love taps that Jeff gets when he is snoring…ha! (Oh stop complaning honey that bruise will be gone in a week, you've gotten worse ones when you go hunting) So I put my ear plugs in, said my nightie night love you to MAMMa and never heard a sound till morning. We were the perfect roomies. Love you MAMMa.
Here I am up on stage after finding out I was #30 Demonstrator of the Year. So proud and so thankful to all my downine and my customers for getting me there.
I love this girl. Isn't she so purty? Jenn teases me about that. I am so proud of her for being picked as one of the Artisan Award winners, she is a talented chick. Plus she is Canadian to boot, could that be why I love her so? Mwah!!
Years ago Brandon was my SAM and he was the best one ever. He went over and above his duties and made you feel special and I am happy to call him a dear friend. He is not with SU! anymore, but I make a point to see him when I go to convention. I missed him last year as he is a crazy marathon runner and goes all over the country doing it, and was out of town. But this year Laurie Krauss managed to make lunch plans with Brandon and surprised him by bringing Lynsay Mahon and I along. It was so much fun. Brandon and Grant had taken my BFF Tracy and I there a few years back and the food is so good, and it reminds me of our favorite AZ place "The Deli".
OK this is getting long and I hope I am not boring you, I promise just a few more.
One of the people I wanted to meet this year was Teneale Williams, she is an Australian Demonstrator and I case her all the time, she does some amazing stuff. This is a horrible picture of me, but I loved the one of Teneale. Her and her Mum came to convention and she was even mentioned on stage. I facebooked her and said I wanted to meet her and she being such a cutie (not having a clue how famous she is) answered back "I saw you Tuesday in the foyer, but didn't think you would know who I was…." I almost fell off my chair. So I was so glad she yelled at me the next day as I was half way up the excalator so MAMMa and I went up the excalator and immediately back down so we could meet.
Sally & I…too funny, she says she is my BFF in training, I met her a couple years ago and since my real BFF did not come this year, she was going to send Tracy a fun warning…ha!
My sweet Sylvia…we met on the first Alaska cruise and they could not have put us with the most perfect couple, her and her hubby Ralph(ie) are the best. She is so funny and I love her!
This is my sweet friend Wendi Jutkins, we met a few years ago on one of the cruises, I noticed we were wearing the same ring and struck up a conversation that lasted a couple hours I think and we have been great friends ever since. We hung out at convention on the one night during the night time party and walked around and chatted, drinking our Maui Juice thing. We even dressed up silly and got into one of the photo booths, I'll have to find those pictures, it was definitely a fun night.
This is the fun group that went to Ruth's Diner posing with Rich Jutkins, the President of Stampin' Up! he is such a sweetie, and the best President, I think we have had. He truly cares about all of us and the Company, and he motivates us and touches our heart whenever he is on stage.
These are just a few of the friends I have made over the years, and their were tons more of you I met this year, and got a hug here and there.
If this post does not make you want to become a Demonstrator, I don't know what else would. I can not tell you how many amazing friends I have from just selling these little rubber stamps, I say it all the time. Thank you Stampin' Up! for coming into my life and blessing me with all these friends.
Have an awesome Wednesday and thanks for stopping in.
so who was the "purty" Canadian girl? you didn't say her name.
Luv ya
Jax
Diana… I loved loved loved seeing all of your convention pictures and reading about all the fun you had with your SU friends. I will definitely be at convention 2012, and I will find you and personally tell you what a huge inspiration you have been to me. You're such a talented lady!
What a great post this morning. All the photos are special and show how much you are loved. I would love to know who won the Stamp Room Makeover and be able to see it. Do you have that information?
Thanks,
Di, Congrats on all your success at convention, sounds like you had an awesome time! You sound like Will Rogers(when he said "I never met a man I didn't like") when you talk about all the people you met. I am sure they all feel the same way about you.
Peggy
Hi Diana,
I just can't tell you how much I love your blog! I have been a demonstrator for almost 10 years and appreciate your ideas and your posts re: convention and all of the other trips! You inspire me to keep working and one of these years I'll go and would love to meet you, it would just be sooo much fun! Thanks!
Is it not funny how we all have our inspiration and people we
want to meet. Here is the funny thing you are my inspiration and it was my highlight at Convention seeing you in real life and briefly meeting you at Olive Garden. Unfortunately you and your guests were likely hungry and on your way to getting your seats so it was really quick but exciting for me all the same.
Congrats on your success and improvements in going from 40 to 30th…how incredibly exciting.
Thanks for sharing all the wonderful people you met. I wish I could have spent more time with you but I ran my patooty off. We had a wonderful time and I clapped like crazy any time I would see you walk across that stage. I am so glad I took my pic with you and can say "I met the famous Diana in person". Roscoe is quite jealous.
Carey and Roscoe
Great pictures and congrats on such a great trip!
Hey Diana….I was so excited to see the pic of us wearing our matching SU shirts on your blog!! Thanks for thinking of me!!! Stay well…talk soon.
Melissa
Di, I love our picture and so glad I got to see you. What a FUN convention! BFF Tracy should know that her position may be in danger if she has to miss again. LOL Love you much!

I love all the pictures! It just makes me want to go to convention even more!! Congratulations on you "Movin' on up!"
Congratulations on all the awards my friend! Your hard work and creative approach to the business is really paying off! Hard to think how next years convention could be better…but I'm sure it will.
