If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away

This 'n' That

13 Jun

Geesh have you heard the lyrics to this Justin Moore song?  No? then here ya go…we can cry together…what are friends for, right?

Every day I drive to work across Flint River bridge
A hundred yards from the spot where me and grandpa fished
There's a piece of his old fruit stand on the side of Sawmill Road
He'd be there peelin' peaches if it was twenty years ago
And what I wouldn't give
To ride around in that old truck with him
If heaven wasn't so far away
I'd pack up the kids and go for the day
Introduce them to their grandpa
Watch 'em laugh at the way he talks
I'd find my long lost cousin John
The one we left back in Vietnam
Show him a picture of his daughter now
She's a doctor and he'd be proud
Then tell him we'd be back in a couple of days
In the rear view mirror we'd all watch 'em wave
Yeah, and losing them wouldn't be so hard to take
If heaven wasn't so far away
I'd hug all three of those girls we lost from the class of '99
And I'd find my bird dog Bo and take him huntin' one more time
I'd ask Hank why he took those pills back in '53
And Janis to sing the second verse of "Me and Bobby McGee"
Sit on a cloud and visit for a while
It'd do me good just to see them smile
If heaven wasn't so far away
I'd pack up the kids and go for the day
Introduce them to their grandpa
Watch 'em laugh at the way he talks
I'd find my long lost cousin John
The one we left back in Vietnam
Show him a picture of his daughter now
She's a doctor and he'd be proud
Then tell him we'd be back in a couple of days
In the rear view mirror we'd all watch 'em wave
Yeah, and losing them wouldn't be so hard to take
If heaven wasn't so far
If heaven wasn't so far
If heaven wasn't so far away
So far away
So far away

Kleenex anyone?

I've been listening to the Pandora radio thing while I finished up my display stuff, and it gets hard to stamp when you're bawling…

Here's another one called "Bleed Red" by Ronnie Dunn his first album since Brooks & Dunn retired

Let's say were sorry, before it's too late, give forgiveness a chance
Turn the anger into water; let it slip through our hands
We all bleed red, we all taste rain, all fall down, lose our way,
We all say words we regret, we all cry tears, we all bleed red

If we're fighting, we're both losing; we're just wasting our time
Because my scars, they are your scars and your world is mine
You and I, we all bleed red, we all taste rain, all fall down, lose our way
We all say words, we regret, well cry tears, we all bleed red
Sometimes we're strong, sometimes we're weak, sometimes we're hurt and it cuts deep
We live this life, breath to breath, we're all the same; we all bleed red

Let's say we're sorry…
Before it's too late…

We all bleed red, all taste rain, all fall down, lose our way,
We all say words we regret, we all cry tears we all bleed red,
Sometimes we're strong, sometimes we're weak; sometimes we're hurt
It cuts deep; we live this life breath to breath; we're all the same
We all bleed r-e-e-e-d-d-d

Another good one eh? They kinda go together, you know the line  "Let's say we're sorry… Before it's too late…"  as much as I would love to go up to heaven and spend the day with my Poppa and all the other loved ones lost over the years, we really can't, so make sure you let your loved ones know you love em while you can, and give them a holler if you haven't talked to them in a while.

Ok enough sad stuff, how about a new Mimeograph Monday card? This one is using a brand new set called "Snow Much Fun", it is one we can pre-order as a Demonstrator, gotta love those perks. Thinking about becoming a Demonstrator? Give me a holler, I'd love to have you join my team.

003 copy

I love the font style of the set. Like a typewriter. While I was doing the card I had on Honey I Shrunk the Kids, boy I haven't seen that in a while.

002 copy
After I did it, I realized mine is not totally identical but that is ok, it is close enough.  Here's the full card.

001 copy

Let me know if this is the card you want as your thank you card for on-line orders you place in my store for the month of June.

I better sign off for tonight.

Have an awesome Monday and thanks so much for stopping in.

Oh, don't put these songs on your blog. It is really hard to read when you are trying to see through tears. Now for the card. Gr8t job!!

Carey and Roscoe (who went to the groomers this weekend- actually means we took him in the shower with us and hosed him down)

The song that gets me right now is I Won't Let Go by Rascal Flatts. Helped me get thru those last few chemo treatments…"I will stand by you, I will help you through, when you've done all you can do and you can't cope, I will dry your eyes, I will fight your fight, I will hold you tight and I won't let go." Of course it continues on but I'm sure you have heard it. Kleenx please!!

So glad to see this sweet card. I'm working on my GoDiva swap, using the Snow Much Fun set, wondering how would Diana shade this guy? It's pretty close to what I have. Love reading your blog!! Will miss seeing you and your display this year. xoxo

I would love to be on your team, but when my upline quit, I was "adopted" by her upline and she is every bit as far away as you. Oh, well. If wishes . . .

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
