Baja Breeze

This 'n' That

3 Jun

091 copy

On the cruise Stampin' Up! had a "Trading Post" room, that was where we spun the wheel every day, and guessed how many items were in a bag, where they had us pick up our claim prizes, they even had a man corner with True Grit playing. They had kids toys and even a big old tub of buttons the kids could "pan for gold" in…well they were actually panning for red buttons.

The last night on our bed we got a paper sack full of buttons (I am assuming these were buttons from said tub)…hmmmm…I think I'll be washing mine first.  I did just say that for 7 days kids panned their fingers and whatever were on their fingers through these buttons…don't think I'm being silly, I had a little boy and I know how his hands looked half the time so now you are saying, "thank you Diana for washing the buttons that we will use at class".  You are so very welcome.

There were also displays of cards, and 3-d items as well as demonstration stuff in there, so I took a bunch of pictures so I could case, tweak you know all that kinda fun stuff. One card that I totally loved was this one, I did tweak it a little, the original had glitter on it and some butterflies, please look on the left side colomn under "Di"ctionary for what the word tweak means on my blog, seems it means different things elsewhere.  Well not here people, it is a good word here!

Anyway back to the card, what do you think? Pretty eh?  I don't know who did it as it was hung on the board, but thanks I love it.

Isn't it pretty?

Oh and another thing I forgot to show you before I left for cruise.

You know we sell Bakers Twine now right? It is in the mini catalog and it comes in three colors:

Early Espresso/White #123124  or Cherry Cobbler/White #123125 or White #124262  you get 25 yards for only $2.95, I mean everyone needs some.  So anyway it comes in a package and I thought I would just wind it on some old wooden spools, and let me tell you 25 yards is a lot.  I kept winding and winding and winding.

You can see the packages in the background and my fun spools in the front. Don't you just love it. It has me itching to go antiqueing again.  Ya wanna come?

Don't forget about the retiring list of items, you don't want to miss out on any of your favorites. Thanks to those of you that have already placed an on-line order in my store this month, it means so much to me.  I will be making a thank you card with a new stamp set and sending it to everyone that orders in my store for the month of June. I already know the set I am going to use too.

Don't forget the clearance list while you are there, and remember if your order totals at least $150.00 you earn Hostess benefits, so make sure to watch your totals and don't miss out.

Well I better get my butt back to cutting paper.

Have an awesome Friday and thanks for stopping in!

A signature white 5

Beautiful card!! I love the way you put the twine on the spools. I have some antique spools that I bought from a store going out of business. You just gave me a great idea on what to do with some of my ribbon!! You are brilliant. As to the question if I want to go antiqueing -YES. I think that would be so much fun. Mostly when I look at antiques I think "wow, that is old looking." I bet if I went with someone like you my eyes would open. Have a wonderful Fri.

Wash those buttons my friend….heck I'd even offer to help! I know at a store here you can purchase a "handful" of buttons…ummm I just can't bring myself to do it even though there are some great buttons in the bin! 🙂

I love the twine on the old spools… I'm going to have to hunt up some old spools now. 🙂 I wanna go antiquing!!!! I get a summer break in 4 days… AZ is not quite around the corner but there are a few antique shops I might have to venture to in Temecula. I sure do love your ideas!

I laughed about you all bundled up and your friend not in a coat on the cruise. I had a heavy jacket on in the middle of the summer on that cruise!!! Hey, you're used to 90 degrees… Alaska is COLD!!!

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
