Speechless…

This 'n' That

13 May

…looks like my Wednesday and Thursday nights just opened up.

If you have not seen American Idol, please stop reading now.

I hope you have enjoyed these songs, as I know I totally enjoyed every single song that James sang this year, and I can't say that about anyone else.  You don't need to listen to the judges, Steven Tyler gets a little wild with his opinion and curses sometimes, they usually bleeped him out…so I don't want anyone to be offended, and don't read the comments if you go to youtube to watch these, yikes the language.

I have to remember that Chris Daughtery went home this week, and he is sensationally successful, I know James will be and I am so glad he has a strong support system at home, a loving wife and an adorable son, and millions of adoring fans. I just feel so connected to him I guess, with his growing up with his disabilities, with all the meaness from kids and people, reminded me of Eric, and how they both have overcome it and have grown up to be amazing young men.

I'll race ya to the store when his album comes out, cause I'm gonna be there first one in line!

Well me and my fat old eyelids from crying are going to bed.

Thanks for putting up with my American Idol chat every week, you won't have to listen anymore, cause I'm done watching for the rest of the season, and who knows maybe forever. They were wrong last year with Adam and definitely this year with James, the judges and Ryan did some things this year, certain comments made that I think swayed votes, and I guess I just don't get it. Now I can totally enjoy the cruise and not be thinking about the show, right Robin? Looks like your birthday party just got better!

Have an awesome Friday and thanks for stopping in.

    Diana,
I TOTALLY agree with you on American Idol!! I am so sad that he got voted off and Haley is still around, but I guess when you show a lot of skin you get more votes. She sure is proud of her legs!!
Well enjoy the cruise and maybe I will see you at convention…Enjoy your blog and will miss your take on AI…

I was totally shocked too! I looked forward to watching James every week. Although I think Scotty is a lot of fun, I don't think he has the star potential that James has. Never-the-less Diana, not to worry, James will be fine. This is an amazing opportunity that he has been given! I'm thinking that he will be back for the final show which is only in a few weeks. Are you going to see "Idol" live?

First, I must say that I have enjoyed tuning into your blog for your Idol chat and will miss it. Please don't give up on Idol–look at what they have done for James. We wouldn't know about him if it weren't for Idol! I, too, am sad that Haley didn't go home instead. I think this has been one of the most talented seasons. I really would have had a hard time choosing between James, Scotty, and Lauren. They are all amazing. You have a very valid point in the fact that Chris Daughtery went home this week and look at his success! I believe that James will do great things and now he gets to go home with his wonderful wife and child–I can only imagine how hard this has all been for them. Have a great time cruising–enjoy!

Di, Don't worry, James is going to be very successful, sometimes winning Idol is not such a good thing, he can go right to a record contract now! I too was shocked.

I am speechless as well! They got it wrong, but I am sure he will do well. My favorite song was, "Without You"…. I probably won't watch anymore Idol this year. I just don't care about those left. I enjoyed your post about Idol. Will miss that! Have a great weekend.

Well, I was speechless too when I saw the show and got the results. And my first thought was that Diana is going to be so disappointed. I was just sure James was going to win but then I was sure last year that Adam was going to win so I guess my picks are not correct. I do believe James was the best but I also believe he will be very succesful.I am glad you will be able to relax on the cruise. I hope you have a great time. And thanks for all the Idol updates every week. I always had to make sure I watched the show on time so I could read your comments. Now my hope is for Scotti to continue on to the end. I think he will have a successful career also.

Oh Di, I agree with you 100%. I have never been in such shock over an elimination as this one. I also believe, as you do, that he will do well and I'll will definitely race you to the store when his album comes out. Have so much fun on your cruise!!!

I am with you girl!! I totally wanted to text you last night, but I figured your phone was already going crazy.

At first, I was in such shock that I literally could.not.talk. I went to the discusstion boards on AI.com and that seemed to calm me down. We know that this is NOT the last we'll be hearing from James! God has bigger and BETTER plans for him!

I am not going to watch anymore, but I will sure be voting for Lauren & Scotty so Haley does NOT become the next AI!!!!

But I still wonder, HOW can someone who has never been in the bottom, just get voted off? I am sure there was something wrong with the votes! Had to been!

    Enjoy your cruise now!! ;o)

You are so right about James being the best of the group but I also like Scotty so I may hang in there.

I'm older than you (LOL) but I cried too last night when James got bumped off.

    Love your blog!

I also was shocked, and vow not to watch again.

On another note, I wanted to let you know that I made Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken, and it was WONDERFUL. It was so darn good. Took the recipe to work to share, because easy and delicious. Thank you, and your friend. Dorene

I agree 100%…America got that wrong, no doubt. Haley or Scott should have gone home in my opinion. James was my favorite from the beginning of the season.

I agree 100%. I enjoyed reading your comments abut American Idol every week and I to am finished watching for the season. My mouth is still on the floor. I was so touched when James looked at his wife in the audience and mouthed, "It's okay." Since you will the first to buy his album, I will be the second.

All I can say is OMG! I thought about you when they announced it and my husband was like "Diana who??" I kept saying OMG, OMG, and he told me to stop! (he was sick with a fever. I thought and wanted Haley to go home last night – how she was safe I just don't know. I thought it would come down to Lauren and James at the very end. I like Scotty and love country music, but it was the same ol, same ol with him pretty much every week – he didn't do anything to change things up that much. Oh well – can't unring the bell as they say! Now you don't have to worry about it on the cruise! Karen

OMG….I can't even begin to comprehend what happened last night!!! Again, this year I am disappointed with the outcome. I agree….I think the judges comments help the listening audience make judgement calls. However, what happened to Haley? According to the performance, judges were not happy with her. Was it sympathetic votes that she received? In any event, I don't care who wins now. I hope someone picks up James and makes him a success that he deserves to be!

I was shocked at last night's results and my Wednesdays and Thursdays have now opened up as well. What is wrong with America and voting on American Idol? My heart broke when they said he was going home. He deserved to win that competition and look how far he has come? I will race you to the store when his first album comes out! Of course, I will be buying it off of iTunes, but you betcha I will looking for it.

I'm still gonna have a great birthday – cuz you'll be helping me celebrate, but I was sure looking forward to that finale.
Even Mark was mad and he usually doesn't give a flip one way or the other. Not only can James sing ANYTHING, but his story is inspirational. Like I said earlier today, he may be better off not being tied to the AI machine, he can name his own price now.
Love and hugs to you – we can cry in our soup together on the ship!

I have not watched the show much this year so I did not attach myself to anyone. But in yearts past I have and so I know how you feel. I remember the year Carrie Underwood won, I so wanted Bo Bice to win. When he lost it felt like I had watched someone close to me lose. Funny how the heart attaches itself to strangers, but look at your loyal blogging family. Most of us do not know you personally but through this blog we have come to know and care for you. Just look at it this way statistically the losers do better than the winners from Idol.

I was in such disarray too! And kept saying you weren't gonna be a happy girl when you finally saw it. Haley should have gone without a doubt! And my brother and I agree – definitely a Howdee Doodee look-a-like! I screamed at the TV for ya if that helps.

Totally speechless. I was amazed. Actually, I could see Scotty going home. Not James. I don't get it. I had an email typed up for you last night, then didn't send it. In essence, I, too, will have open time on my Wed and Thur. nights. I'm done. Finished. Maybe "America" shouldn't be trusted with this vote. I've said before, there should be a test.

what a shocker that was. I really thought he would win this year. But you are right, the same thing happend to Daughtry and it's better he didn't win because he won't have that whole "american idol" thing hanging so high over his head like other past winners. That last falsetto note was totally reminicent of Adam Lambert who is also a big success. He'll have success without idol, so it won't matter one way or another. On another note, so excited that David Cook's new album is FINALLY being released next month!
