What Do You See?

Hummingbird pod

So a while ago I was going out the back door and I looked down and saw this, and I was like oh no...what does it look like to you?

To me it looked like a baby hummingbird laying there.  When I looked closer it was a seed pod or something. Neat eh?

It is weird how our eyes see things. Last weekend when Jeff and I were driving around there was a car in front of us with a white decal on the back window and we both looked at it, and Jeff said "I think it's an elk" and I'm like "yeah, could be" cause you could kinda see where horns might be, and I looked at it more, and then I saw it, and I was like "it's Jesus" and he was like "what?" and I'm like "yeah you can see Jesus' head with the crown of thorns" and sure enough once you knew what to look for it was plain as day, so I don't know if that was the purpose of it being made like that, that it made you think?  Who knows. It was Easter after all when we saw it.

Today one of my friends was having a hard time finding a refill amongst all her many bottles, she had them dumped on the floor, so I quick took a picture how I have mine to show her.

Ink refills copy
I took a small circle punch and punched a piece out of each color cardstock then I glue dotted it on the top of the bottle, now the colors are easier to find. They fit inside one of the drawers in my little black jewelry case.

So today was a very fun mail day, earlier this morning I was hearing a buzz that our cruise packet was showing up today, the Canadian girls were getting theirs Fed Ex, but us in the US were getting ours by UPS. So when I heard that familiar toot, I rushed out and met Curtis at the truck door, and he handed me the packet and it was squishy and he says "is it a t-shirt" and I'm like "no, it's my cruise documents" and I opened it to show him and OMG!! this is the best little package I have ever gotten, they are all cute, but this is adorable, and will be used for other things way past cruise. Hmmm...I wonder if Nookie will fit in it?

007 copy
Here is the cute cover.

011 copy
It even has a rubber stamp sewn on it.

013 copy
Then you unzip it and all the goodies are in there, travel documents, luggage tags, lanyards with our name tags, a book to keep track of stuff...and I even got a bracelet in mine...in fact four of them...

006 copy
...cute eh?

014 copy
Of course I'll have to put it back on my luggage tag before the trip, but hey I love it! It don't take much to make me happy does it? Jeff is rolling his eyes right now.

018 copy
Here's the notebook to keep track of our days and stuff, I put post it notes in there on the days where we have stuff planned so I don't forget. Jeff's going Halibut fishing in Ketchikan and he can't stop talking about it.

I did not have any time to really look at it, as I have classes all weekend and was getting ready for those.

Four Frames Hello

005 copy

I'll be quick tonight as I have been working on class stuff all day.

I wanted to show you the last card (I think I showed all the other ones) from my 10/10/20 Birthday card class, it uses the Paisly Prints DSP & Four Frames set. You have only a few more days to get it. I know I keep saying that but just in case you are new to my blog now you know too.

004 copy
Stamp Set: Four Frames, Tiny Tags

Paper: Marina Mist, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, River Rock

Ink: Jetblack Stazon

Misc: Framed Tulips embossing folder, decorative label punch, jewelry tag punch, boho blossoms punch, Marina Mist taffeta ribbon, vintage trinkets

In the morning when I walk on the treadmill (which I need to do every day) I have been watching the Game Show Network and I watched a show called Lingo...took me a while to get what the heck was going on,  there was an episode where it was a dad and a son against a mum and a daughter (the teams were no relation to each other), and I swear the daughter did not want to be there, she was so grumpy and looked bored and one time the mum told her the word to spell ( I still don't understand why they don't just spell it instead of the other person) and I think it was CROWD, but the girl spelled it CROUD, you should have seen the look the mum gave her, well of course that was not right so the guys got the points, and then the MC made a funny remark like they really messed up, and he might not have should of said that and I wonder if that is why they are saying the new MC is going to be Here's Your Sign Bill Engvall. Can you imagine him, he's liable to just go over to the person and slap them with a flyswatter.

OMG! This commercial makes me smile all the time, I love the look of the lady that quickly covers the cake...the whole germafobe in me totally understands. Same with those fruit bouquets!! How safe can those be? How can you remove your piece of fruit without touching someone elses? My friend Carol even said "what if someone sneezes?" I almost passed out when she said that just thinking about it. I still wake up at night sometimes screaming "Move the Fruit Bouquet,  Billy's gonna Sneeze!" Just kidding of course.  I want my hubby to read the word sneeze and know that I am secretly sending him a message.

So American Idol, what a night eh? If you have not seen it, don't read anymore.

Oh and those of you that are east coasters don't email me (or I just won't read my email before or during the show) about Idol...at least result stuff.  Rhonda emailed me about the dog on the couch and that was cool cause I totally saw that his head was in different positions but you never actually saw him moving so it did make it seem like it was taped and edited. I might not have noticed that if she had not have said anything, so thanks Rhonda.

I think tonight the sound was off in the beginning where the Idols open up the show, cause it seemed too low. What was up with Steven's hat? Oh and the Rolling Stone cover, not a good picture, but the other one where it showed him inside the magazine.  Way nice!!! He makes old "cool".

It was nice seeing Crystal Bowersox, and her familiar glass mike stand.  She looks thinner and I noticed that she had her teeth straightened, she still looks like herself though, not like when Cher had her teeth fixed. I personally loved Cher's old teeth, with the fangs.

Then Ryan started the results stuff and brought out Haley, and for the love of Pete she was saved and he told her right away.

Then he did Scotty, and told him he had to wait go sit down, then Lauren, same thing, he did it with everyone till James, and he told James he was safe. YEAH! BABY!!  So this was weird to me, then he brought all them up that he told to sit down and wait, then he told Lauren she was safe, so then the bottom three were Casey, Scotty & Jacob, and then he said Jacob was safe, so then I figured Casey would go home and yep he did. Casey really sang a nice send off, kissing girls in the crowd, kissing Steven & J-Lo, and then not sure who the guy and girl were in the audience before he went on stage that he mugged with, then I thought he was gonna make out with Haley at the end when he came up on stage, but he didn't.

I was not upset like I was when he was kicked off the first time and the judges saved him cause he was so much better than all the other people that have gone home before him, but I think that he might have stayed longer then Jacob and certainly Haley.  So next week Jacob & Haley one of them will go, I am predicting.  I wonder what they will sing? I thought they used to tell us at the end of the show what they would sing the next week?  They have not done Judges pick yet right?

Ok, well this post that was gonna be quick was a little long, sorry about that.

Did you get up to watch the Royal wedding? I remember doing that for Princess Di and Prince Charles and her long train on her dress. I think I had to go to school that day, it was a few years ago,  I remember getting up for Diana's funeral too, such a sad day. I don't think I will be getting up, I mean as I type this it would only be like 4 hours away or something, I'll just watch replays and stuff I am sure they will be showing lots tomorrow. Let's hope they live a long and happy life with each other.

Have an awesome Friday, and thanks for stopping in!

Beyond the Garden

002 copy

Last night I broke My Precious' cover, I have to take the back cover off in order to put it on the clock thingie, and snap! the front cover broke, so today I ran over to the Verizon store to get a new one, and was told by the not so pleasant worker "oh you have the original Droid we don't sell covers for those, you'll have to check Amazon, your phone is obsolete" then she walked away to wait on someone else.  I was like well gee I still pay my bill every month I think I should be treated a little better. I think they should have to keep some basic covers for phones that they have sold, I don't mean phones like 5 or more years old but heck the Droid is not that old.  So anyway, I did go online to Amazon and I ordered a new cover, I won't be going into the store anytime soon. Maybe I'm being over sensitive, maybe Aunt Flo is coming to visit soon.

I made up a few cards with the same layout I used the other day, but this time I used some of the new Beyond the Garden DSP.

001 copy
Stamp Set: Fabulous Phrases, Four Frames - you only have a few more days to get this set

Paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Beyond the Garden DSP, cardstock vellum

Ink: Jetblack Stazon, Marina Mist, More Mustard, Sahara Sand

Misc: White Tafetta, decorative label punch

The DSP was a little bold so I took a piece of cardstock vellum and I cut it a little bit smaller and I mounted it over top the DSP and that softened it up.

005 copy
What do you think?  I was about ready to scream cause my phone would not focus on it. Maybe it was the vellum? I finally got it to work.

So the other day Jeff and I were talking about the Alaska cruise coming up and then we got figuring out the dates of American Idol and now I'm freaking a little bit, cause I am thinking we will be on the cruise the final night of American Idol and I don't know it there will be local stations?  I need to find out, we'll be in Victoria maybe we can find a pub somewhere. Can you just imagine? Me not seeing my James Durbin win?

So American Idol, if you have not watched it, stop reading ok?

Tonight it was the Top 6 and the Idols were singing Carole King.

I must not know many of her songs cause I didn't recognize too many of them.

Jacob sang first and a song I did not know.  I am not sure who dressed him but his tie was all crooked and his colors were very bright.  I did not care for the song, but it is always hard when I don't know a song. He sure had a lot of fun singing it though.  I think he will be in the bottom three.

Lauren was next, and she looked beautiful and she sang great, and even had fun with a young guy in the audience, she comes out of her shell more each week.  I wish she had of picked a different song, and I can't believe they brought on Miley Cyrus when Lauren was practicing, but I guess if Lauren likes her that is good, but I don't know if Miley would be where she is without her famous Dad.

They did duets tonight and Haley & Casey sang together, and blech! blech! blech! Nuff said!

Scotty was up next, and I sure wish they had of just let him sing it the cowboy way cause I didn't particularily care for this arrangment.  I think that Glenn Campbell sang that song years ago, and he was country.

Then my boy James was up, and I swear he gets cuter every week.  He sang amazing as usual, he made me cry like always and I loved everything he did with this song. How he started it, how he changed it up to rock in the middle and how he ended it. I swear someone has got to tape the final Idol for me, we don't have a tape machine at our house. MAMMa? Will you? I know you will be watching it.

Then Lauren & Scotty did a duet, this was their third one and it was really really good as usual. I loved when they interviewed them and the question was "how do you complement each other?" and Lauren said he never complimented her, and it was too funny, cause then Scotty was like they didn't ask that or something like that...too cute.

Then Casey sang in his true wacky Casey fashion and I was on the Casey band wagon but I am slowly sliding off, I think he will be in the bottom three.

Steven Tyler had some little girl sitting on his lap for a bit, and it was so funny she was touching everything on the table.  Laverne from Laverne and Shirley was in the audience with the trademark round sunglasses. I also saw the Everybody Loves Raymond cop brother too.

Then (please get rid of her) Haley sang, and I did not know the song and I didn't like it. I see where she shortened her dress up as her hem was all crooked on the sides. I say bottom three.

Then they had Jacob and James as a duet and although I love James, this was not a good pairing. At one time the guys came down and pulled J-Lo and her chair out from behind the table and spun her around and she quickly plunged her hand down to keep her dress from showing off too much, we almost had a Sharon Stone "Basic Instinct" moment.

I voted for James, Lauren & Scotty, and I think they will be the top three at the end.

They keep showing this Victoria Secret commercial with the models with wings on and not much else and one of them looks like she is on a cruise ship, and Jeff is all excited hoping she'll be on ours. If he wants wings, I'll give him wings...ha!

They have also been showing lots of commercials for Pirates of the Carribean, and I think tomorrow I'm gonna wear my make up the pirate way.

Johnny Depp
This is what my make up looks like when I get up, so I guess I'll be half of the way there. Ha! I mean Arrr!!!

Have an awesome Thursday and thanks for stopping in!

Letter from Granny

I got a letter from my Granny the other day, the envelope was addressed by my Mum, so I was thinking that maybe the letter would be written by Mum too and that Granny would have just told her what to write, but nope Granny wrote it herself, there was that familiar hand writing that she calls "horrible" and I call beautiful.

When I opened it I was so excited I had to be peeled off the ceiling when I saw she actually wrote it, I have been a bad grand daughter cause I don't write like I used to, yeah I write on my blog every night, and yap about this and that so you would think letter writing would come easy to me and it used to, and then I get busy, and make excuses why I don't, but no more.

You know why Granny wrote me? She was answering my letter, cause I got off my lazy butt and wrote her a letter to send with her birthday card instead of just signing our names like I usually do. So I should not have been surprised that Granny wrote me back, she is a better person than I ever will be, and if I can be half as good as her in my lifetime I will go to heaven a happy person.

So you know what I did today? I sat and wrote another letter to Granny, and every week I am going to do it, I mean no more stupid "I'm too busy" excuses, life is too short.  So how be you sit down with pen and paper, or your computer like I do, and write a letter to someone you have not talked to in a while, I bet they will be as tickled and their heart will be as full as mine when they open up your letter.

Have a great Wednesday and thanks for stopping in!

FLICKs for March

003 copy

I ran to Price Club this morning and picked up a bunch of stuff, and I did a bad thing, I went hungry. Yep, that is not a good thing to do when you go there, but I did get some good stuff, and some household stuff we needed, paper towels, toilet paper, things like that.

Even after spending all that money, what did I do before I left? I bought me a hot dog and drink for $1.50 - Ha!

So I had taken my bag that zips up and is insulated so stuff does not melt on the way home, and when I was unloading these heavy danged old boxes out of my cart, I almost ruptured something it was so heavy, I saw that the guy just put the bag still all folded up and stuck in one of the boxes, he didn't even put my frozen stuff in it...well gee thanks fella, I was just taking that bag inside to give it a tour of the store.  So I had to go right home since stuff was not packed right and I didn't want to be doing it in the parking lot.

I hadn't shown the FLICKs (First Level Incentive Card Kits) card for March yet so I wanted to do that, and I think I still have one from my 10/10/20 Birthday card class I will show another day.

Don't forget that this Four Frames stamp set you can get this month only, and then it won't be available again until the new catalog.  All you have to do is place an order of at least $20.00 before tax and shipping and then you can order this set and the Paisley Prints DSP too. You can read more about it here.

002 copy
Stamp Set: Four Frames, Fabulous Phrases, Love & Care

Paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Marina Mist

Ink: Marina Mist, Whisper White, Jetblack Stazon, More Mustard, Sahara Sand

Misc: White Taffeta, Decorative Label punch, Framed tulips Embossing folder

So guess what?

I got my first critter fix for the year. I have seen a few running around but today was a fun day...well for me anyway, not sure about this little guy.

When I went out in the back yard, for some reason I went over to the backyard kitchen and this little guy was in the sink.  They fall in and then usually they can't get back out cause it is too slick, so I caught him and brought him in for a few pictures.

004 copy
He's thinking, darn it, I wish I hadn't just peed cause I would like to give this crazy woman a palm full.

005 copy
Look at his pretty under belly color, like blue turquoise, will have to google that to see what it is, maybe it means he was cold since he was in the stainless steel sink when I caught him. Added since post: I googled it and he is a Sagebrush Lizard and here is more information on him - yep it was a him...or a Western Fence Lizard, more information here.  Although I got a much better picture of his under belly then Wikipedia did...just sayin'!

006 copy
I love this one, he's giving me the "wanna buy some car insurance lady?" look.

So then I figured I'd let him go out front near the roses and where Jeff has his split rail fence, so as I was walking out there, where I was going to set him down, there was another one, and I was like "hey!" and then he scooted down the post a bit.

009 copy
This one's body was a bit fatter. Then he ran off when I got closer.

010 copy
So I put my little guy on the fence and he stayed there for a bit, probably thanking his lucky stars he was saved from the sink. Then I went to touch him and he jumped down onto the ground.

012 copy
Look how great he is at blending in, he looks like a stick eh?

So that was my critter excitement for today.  With the weather getting nicer I am sure there will be more, and I hope they are just the fun critters and not the slimy no legged kind if you catch my drift.

Have an awesome Tuesday and thanks for stopping in.
