Becoming Granny

Punches

5 Apr

003 copy

This might be it. I'm morphing into my Granny, yesterday I called Toby "Eric & Sammi" before I called him Toby.  OK I understand Sammi, she was our other dog, but calling Toby Eric?  Ha!  I remember when we were growing up, we would get Donna, Linda, before we would get Jacqui or Diana.  After our parents divorced, Mum, Jacqui and I moved in with Granny and Poppa.  So we lived with them most of our lives, so it made sense that as they would tell stories, they would say "remember when this happened?" and we would be like "that was before I was born, that was Mum or Aunt Donna"…so I laughed at myself doing it the other day.

So this will be a quick post as it is almost 1am.  I left MAMMa's at midnight I chatted a bit…or a lot after we got back to her house after Rhonda's meeting.

This is the card I did for Rhonda's swap, the theme was punches, so I wanted to do a quick card…ahem! Yeah right, sewing, punching, markering, you name it went on the card…but when you case a Carrie Gaskin masterpiece it aint quick. In fact hers was even fancier!  Thanks Carrie, you are sooo talented.

In fact look at the cute ruffly little dress. That's Carrie's idea, and the pearls? Yep Carrie's.

My idea is to show you the full card and recipe and hit the hay.

At our house my brothers were all called by the wrong name before Mom hit on the right one. Me she always got the name right. That's because there were seven of them and only one of me. Growing up with seven brothers and no sisters was always a mixed bag. But we did have lots of fun!

I love, love, love this card. I have a special affection for the owl punch. I've made many owls of every description with it, now I'll have to try this one. I'm even using it to make roses and they are turning out really well.

Not my granny – my dad, he used to call me by my brother's names – didn't even have the right gender! Great card as always – also didn't respond to yesterday's – awesome coloring as usual. RE: Deja vu – all the time – gives me goose bumps. Ex kept seeing a house in my dreams, one day while driving came upon this house, asked my mom who did we know that lived there because we used to go there, she said we never went to that house – creepy – probably was in past life ha!! I have to get this little owl punch, one of these days. My poor sis, last of 4 sibs, grew up being called "Ka-Betsy."

Hope to see you at Convention again, I am crossing my fingers (and toes)that I can go. I tried to explain to my hubby that I had to go just so I could bring you Ketchup chips and Smarties:)

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
