Honesty

This 'n' That

6 Feb

We are all friends here right? You won't read this post and have your chin hit the floor, your eyes roll in your head, and then call one of those clutter mess zone shows right?

Yesterday I told you I was getting my old cabinets emptied and moved out for the cabinets to come in today, so we got that wall all emptied, Jeff even removed the baseboard, then we found out that Mark's helper is sick and he still has stuff to do so now it won't start being installed till Monday. I was like ummm…well? What do I do now? I'm at a stand still, basically my room is unusable like it is…cause this is what my room looks like…please know that I am embarrased to show you this…

012 copy
…this is the wall that is done, (probably your first real view of it and you can't even see it) and I pushed one of my class tables over there so I could unload my cabinets with embellishments, and envelopes, business supplies and stuff like that…

011 copy
…here is the other side of the room, both these tables are full of stuff, and even under the tables too…

014 copy
…this is the wall waiting for cabinets, I will have to remove the pictures hanging there so sad like.  I also will lose my wall decor as cabinets will cover it, and I love that saying, but it retired, so will have to find another one or wait for new ones to come out.  I also, as you can see by the paint can in the middle of the floor, will touch up my certainly celery paint that I couldn't reach before.

So we moved my computer desk and the computer and printers into the front room, I will just have my laptop in my studio with its wireless printer, oh my gosh after moving all those danged cords I sure appreciate the whole wireless world.  So anyway we move the computer in there, plug the modem WiFi dealie bob into the phone line only to realize it does not work in there, and I am freaking out.  This would mean the computer in the house would not be connected to the internet.  Once I plugged it back in my studio I at least could get an internet connection with my laptop but that was not gonna cut it.  I called the phone company and the girl told me to do all sorts of stuff and nothing worked, so then they said they could send out a tech, but Jeff said why don't we have our neighbor look at it, he is a phone guy.  So he came over, did some wire switches and switched that wall plug in thingie from my studio with the house one and we are good to go. Whew! I was like about blowing my stack with worry! I can hear MAMMa "don't waste a worry".

So nothing to show you today, except pictures to show you I am not making up any excuses.  It's all good, it's gonna be better, and I'll even get to go to bed at a half decent time tonight and maybe finish my book. I am loving Water for Elephants. When I am done I would love to talk about it in an email if you read it.  It does remind me of our old carnie days with all the tear down and set ups, but we didn't have all the animals and stuff like the book.

Have a blessed Sunday and thanks for stopping in every day, even when I don't have anything stamping to show you.

You will have it all fixed up before long. I don't know why you would be embarrassed. It is under renovation……stuff gets all over when happens. I think you have a very organized chaos going on. 🙂
Have fun. What a nice BIG space,
    Susie

Di you are crazy girl. Your room looks organized even with everything out and on the tables. Is that what they mean by organized chaos? I know you are excited and can't wait to have it done. Don't feel bad though. I have my wood floor still in boxes up in my stamp room still waiting for my hubby to finish. They've only been there for over a year! I loved "Water For Elephants". Wasn't sure at first since I'm not a real circus lover but ended up loving the book. It's been a few years since I read it. Have a great Sunday. I'm getting ready for Michelle Zindorf's visit to my house next weekend. So need to get busy and straighten up the old stamp room for her! Next, I have to get that Di Gibbs girl out here?

Ha! I know such a pain right now, but it will all be worth it in the end. What a great memory it will all be too. If it just went fast and easy it wouldn't be as good a memory, don't you think? You're also getting plenty of time to decide what to put where and all that. Besides!! You are getting a new room when it's all said and done! Whoo-hoo! My mom would say "quitcha' worryin' and get on with it" LOL!

Well Di, it certainly looks as though it will be well worth all the present inconveniences when all said and done. Appears your finished studio will be very functional as well as beautiful. Keep those creative juices flowing. Looking forward to your return.

Looking good and going to be great when finished. Till then, it's a good excuse to go read fiction! Been more than a year since I read Water for Elephants, but I remember it enough to know how it ended. Nanner, nanner.

It really doesn't look that bad. I'm happy for your renovation, though! I think it will be great when finished, but I know how hard it is to wait on others to get projects done.

I read Water For Elephants a few months ago and adored it. Can't wait for the film to come out. Would be happy to discuss!

Wow, your room looks wonderful!!! Your room
with a little bit of furniture displaced looks absolutely amazing. I live in a perpetual mess as I have just run out of room
and ideas to organize. perhaps a little purging is due….hmmm!

We don't mind and thanks for showing it to us. I have pics of when they were fixing up our house before we moved in. I cried when I saw the house for the first time-he bought it without me seeing it. Yes- I have one of those hubby's but it was in a completely different state. He had a vision and it turned out wonderfully. I just could fathom how great it would be. So thanks for showing it to us.

It's always fun to see how other people's craft rooms look. Mine is so bad that I'm ashamed to post photos. But when I first saw this post, I immediately identified with you. We have just bought a new house and in a month, I will have to pack up my crafting stuff and move it into my new crafting room. And, the new room needs lots of work. And because I'm a paper addict, there is no way I can live without, so I, too, will probably have tables stacked with boxes and paper, until it all gets sorted out. I love your cabinets. I hope you find your made over room inspiring and peaceful

Like your first sentence says, honesty here. This is my FIRST visit to your blog….LOVE IT! So down to earth and real. Your room is AWESOME. I would love to have space in my house. Kids are grown and gone, now just cats, dogs, and oh yeah…a husband. AND everything the kids decided they didn't want to take with them when they moved out!!! Anyone been there? Where are those TV shows when you need them?

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
