Sit a Minute

This 'n' That

26 Jan

101020 thank you chair 007 copy

Cause this is gonna be a quick post.  It's already past midnight. How does that happen? Anyway I didn't get tons done today cause the guys were here installing the cabinets, it took quite a while to get it in and that is fine. Mark is anal like me so we make a great team. He is very particular. Thursday he will put the doors on and then start on the other wall.  I thought the doors were going on today, I have learned through this whole experience, that things don't always get done on time, but so far so good, I am a little stressed and I think that is part of the neck and shoulder tension just cause everything is kinda all over the place and we have a big event coming up plus my classes, so I guess that just happens. So they had the doors open while they worked and I must have killed ten flies tonight buzzing around.

So just to quickly show you a card we did at my class last weekend, I saw a card like this by Ann Schach and I changed it a tiny bit and I love it. Thanks Ann! I love this set too.

Stamp Set: Have a Seat

Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, White Confetti

Ink: Early Espresso

Misc: White Striped brown grosgrain, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder

I took the picture on my new counter without the white cardstock behind it, not sure I will always do that, but I kinda liked seeing the counter. What do you think? Maybe I'll do it with just the white background and leave the counter there? I was being quick though.

I also want to get in the habit of tidying up before I go to bed, I am so bad at just leaving what I am working on and then my brain thinks of ten more things to do the next day, so things kinda pile up, like scraps that need to be filed and stuff like that, so I am going to make a point of changing my routine to clean up or at least straighten up, I don't want to totally put stuff away just to yank it out the next day, but I definitely can do better then the past, I mean things have a place now (well at least the one wall stuff does). So I am gonna sign off, go tidy up and get my butt in bed.

I just started reading Water for Elephants, have you read it? What did you think? Jeff and I used to be carnies years ago (that is different then circus people) but still I wonder if I will remember old times as I read it.

Have a great Wednesday and thanks for stopping in!

Di, I read WATER FOR ELEPHANTS last summer. I loved it! The characters, the setting, the way the author described every detail–it was like I was there watching it.
Did you hear there's a movie coming out based on the book? I hope it doesn't disappoint!
Enjoy your book, but don't join the circus, please!

I have not read the book, but the movie trailer looks interesting. Edward (Robert Pattinson) is in it.

I loved Water For Elephants. Very different but good and I'm not a circus lover! Love the card and that set as well. As far as cleaning up after the day is over. I don't know how many times I have said I was going to do that only to end up with stuff everywhere because I'm thinking of the next card or idea while I'm making the present one!! Then I worry that I will forget what I was going to do so I just start grabbing stuff to make the new idea! I think now a days they call it ADD but I'm too old for the medication! Heck, I'm too old for a lot of things! Have a good day Di. Can't wait to see your "new room".

I read the description of that book and decided that I probably couldn't get through it without crying, so I passed. You'll have to let me know how you like it.
Can't wait to see the finished re-do!

    Hi Di!
My sister just got done reading Water for Elephants and said it was a great book. She can't wait for the movie to come out later this year to compare notes. I have it on my list to read, too.
I LOVE love LOVE, your card from today, and the one you did yesterday. I may have to do some CASEing.
Already looking forward to Convention–I am on my way to Minneapolis Regionals in just 3 weeks. Looking forward to seeing you in July!

    Hugs,
    Amy

I read the book, though I don't read "novels" very much, those that defy pigeon-holing like Water for Elephants. Even got Russel to listen to the talking book while he was driving around doing his job. It was sad, but worth it. Looking forward to the movie. You should be done by now. What did you think?

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
