Spring Fling Sneak Peek

Spring Fling 2011 045 copy

My girlfriend Rhonda came over today and we made the last finishing touches to our upcoming Spring Fling event make n takes. We got some fun displays done too, and we even finally took a break around 7:00 and headed over to the new Olive Garden that just opened by me, they were packed but we got in after waiting about 15 minutes and it was very yummy.  I got this tea with like peach and raspberry or something and I could drink that all day long.

Rhonda just let a bit ago and since it's almost 12:30am, I'm just gonna show a quick sneak peek of one of the make n takes that the girls will be doing at Spring Fling. I will totally post them all after the event, but want to save them for a surprise for the girls attending.

Have an awesome Monday and thanks for stopping in!

Tying One On

Today was so much fun, I went shopping and had lunch with my friend Melissa, we had a blast and the day zipped by so fast. We went to Joannes first and picked up material, she got a bug up my butt when she was telling me about making a blanket with the fleece and tying it into knots.  We had got one years ago from my friend and downline Christa and we love it, it is so snuggly soft.  So I thought hey I would make one for Toby.

So I picked up two different fleeces but ones that complimented each other, plus they went with my studio and that is where it will be.

Mel told me how to do it and I got started I used my, antique shopping find, fold out ruler to make sure I was doing my cuts even.  Anal much? Yep!

Tobys Blanket 019 copy
So this is it with all the edges cut and ready to start tying.  I had the movie "The Proposal" on while I did this, I have seen it a bunch of times, and I love it.

So after a million ties...

...it's all done.  I hope he likes it, he went to bed with Daddy so he won't see it till tomorrow.

We went to lunch at Cantina Laredo, we love that place, Mel's family does not like mexican food so we usually head over there when we get together. Afterwards we headed over to Pink Polka Dot Skull and I got the cutest purse and it's red...

...I usually only get black purses, they go with everything and it is less obvious that I have got a new purse, except oops Jeff walked in and saw me taking a picture of my new purse...ha! Jokes on me!

We also went into this store called Charming Charleys and they have lots of well...stuff. I was checking out a cute little purse and check out the tag inside:

Well thank goodness I would hate to buy fake faux leather.

Jeff and Eric went ice fishing today, they caught four good sized trout, and look what he brought me back.

A bucket of snow...ha!

So today was good, a bucket of snow from my hubby and...

...a bottle of vampire wine from Mel.  I put it on my shelf with all my Twilight stuff.  Thanks Mel, love you girl!

Well I better get off here, I'm gonna go over and see my downline Carri's new little baby girl Sara tomorrow, I picked up a few things today, I have not shopped for a baby in a long time, things sure are different from when I was a new Mum. Rhonda is coming over tomorrow too, we are gonna work on some display stuff for our Spring Fling event, and we may do some cowboy boot shopping.

Have a blessed Sunday and thanks for stopping in.

Apple Blossoms

101020 Apple Blossoms 009 copy

You love me, you really do, I had emails asking...where was my post, and I am like huh what? I posted, so I looked an oh well that is weird and I set the time wrong...oops...so thanks for the heads up everybody, my BFF Tracy included...here ya go...love to all - Di

Today was a fun day I did a private class at Lois' and got to hang out with some fun ladies, there were some new faces there too.  It is always a great time when I go there. Lois has me do the current 10/10/20 class at her home. She has 10 - 15 people attend, and I think everyone has a blast. Lois always has the best treats too.

This is one of the cards they did. I saw a card by Brenda Taylor that used a different set and I loved it, so this is my tweak. Thanks Brenda!

101020 Apple Blossoms 008 copy
Stamp Set: Apple Blossoms

Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Melon Mambo

Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Melon Mambo, Basic Black

Misc: Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder, 3/4" circle punch, rhinestones, Melon Mambo pompom trim.

Tip: To attach the Pom Pom Trim just add a few glue dots on the back side of the Pom Pom Trim and press it on the cardstock, works like a snap.

I had a few people email me with questions on how to use the Letterpress Templates. I did a video tutorial a while ago on this post, and you can see it again here.

To see any of my past tutorials and or videos just look to the right under categories, and click on Tutorials or Videos and they will come up. If you read my blog in a reader or if it comes to your email box, you'll have to go right to my blog to see the columns on the sides.  You should do that now and again anyway, cause you never know what you are missing.

I let the girls out tonight for a bit so they could snack on some grass and stuff. Alice, Clara & Stella were easy to get back in, they are tame enough that they come over to me to let me pick them up and I pop them back in the coop, but Gertie who is not as tame, she is getting better but she still has a ways to go. It must have taken me 10 minutes to wrangle her up.  She was called all sorts of names while I was trying to get her. I finally got her in the corner and scooped her up and then she clucked at me like she was saying "that was fun, was it good for you? It was good for me" So I think I'll wait a while before I let them out again. I hate to only let one or two out cause then the ones left in the coop throw a fit, and the ones out are over there trying to figure out how to get with the other ones...too funny!

Have a great Saturday and thanks for stopping in!

FLICKs for December

FLICKs December 003 copy

I'll be quick I am definitely going to bed before midnight tonight, I have a private class tomorrow so I want to be bright eyed and bushy tailed.

At Leadership my friend Amy gave me the cutest bag tag, and I told you I would share it with you, and here it is:

FLICKs December 005 copy
Isn't it cute? And then she sent me this card with her Spring Fling check:

FLICKs December 007 copy
I love it and so I thought hey this would make a great FLICKs (First Level Incentive Card Kits) for my directs that earned them for December, so I changed the stamp set and this is what I used:

FLICKs December 001 copy
Stamp Set: Punch Bunch

Ink: Jetblack Stazon

Paper: Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Love Letter DSP

Misc: Chantilly Crochet Trim, Scallop Circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1" punch, 3/4" circle punch

Thanks Amy for the great inspiration.  Love ya!

Tonight it was neat watching American Idol cause it was in Nashville and they had the try outs in the Ryman Theater where we went to see the Grand Ole Opry and I was telling Jeff where we sat, and you could see the windows I took pictures of. The last girl that sang made me cry her voice was so beautiful.

Ok, that's it, I gotta hit the hay.

Have an awesome Friday and thanks for stopping in!

Take Note

Well I'll be darned if Gertie didn't secretly start to lay and she didn't tell me. Yesterday was the second time we got 4 eggs, and I think she has been laying a week or two, her eggs are lighter brown and they look like they have little holes in the shell,I mean they are not holes but there are little black dot things, it looks more like a rock. I cracked one open and look...

Gertie egg copy

...her yolks are way more orange looking then the other girls. But it tasted just as good fried up in the pan.

I wanted to show you another card the girls did at my 10/10/20 Thank you card class. I didn't have this Notably Ornate set and had seen so many cute things with it I just had to get it.

101020 Note 010 copy
Stamp Set: Notably Ornate

Paper: Early Espresso, So Saffron, Very Vanilla, Botanical Gazette DSP

Ink: Early Espresso

Misc: Decorative Label punch, Oval punch, Top Note Die, Striped Early Espresso ribbon (cut in half of course), vintage trinkets, pearls

Where is the trinket and the pearl you ask?

101020 Note 012 copy
Well right there, I used the vintage trinket button and I stuck a tiny pearl on top, doesn't it totally look like a whole new embellishment? Love it!

So tonight when Jeff got home from work I said "how be we go out for supper?" we have not done that in a while, and he said "sure, just give me some time to get a few things done around the house". So after we were all ready, the three of us headed over to...guess where?  Ha! Yes, The Deli...we have not been there in so long, bad I know.  So anyway, this is what we had, I suggest you lay like a cloth or something over your keyboard or just sit back, I won't be responsible for any damages your drooling will do.

Eric had:

Deli Eric copy
Crab cakes and a side salad (that looked so good - it's not pictured), he raised his eyes at the plate they served him on. A squashed wine bottle. He ate every bit of it, he did say the crab cakes were a bit spicy.

Jeff had:

Deli Jeff copy
Pan Seared Wild Orange Roughy, Toasted Pecan Quinoa, Cumin Scented Baby Carrots & Herb Butter Sauce - I tried his fish and OMG! I am not a fish person but this was delicious cause it didn't taste fishy. Blake the owner is an amazing chef and he knows how to cook fish.

I had:

Deli Diana copy
Slow Roasted Chicken Breast, Toasted Pecan Quinoa, Cumin Scented Baby Carrots & Herb Butter Sauce - it was really good, our carrots were a little crunchy so I am not sure if they were supposed to be that way, and I didn't want to ask and look like a dork, remember last year when we went for Valentine's Day dinner, and we poured our shooters on our salad thinking it was dressing.  Oopsee!

For desert (I know...like this was not enough), the guys had Peanut Butter & Honey Ice Cream (they always have unique flavors there), and I of course had carrot cake...and I ate pretty much everything.

So all I can say is if you get out to Queen Creek, you have to check out The Deli, you will be glad you did.

So as we were waiting for our check, my BFF Tracy texted me and said to make sure I caught the first 5 minutes of American Idol, so we got home with 15 minutes to spare.

If you have not seen it, and don't want any spoilers stop reading now.

The first guy with the deep voice was so good, and what was he like 15?  Anyway I was like to Jeff "he'll sing Josh Turner" and sure enough he did, I mean heck what was he gonna sing Tip Toe Through the Tulips by Tiny Tim? Not bloody likely. I didn't watch the full two hours but I did catch most of it as I was getting my FLICKs cards cut out, I am really liking the addition of J-Lo and especially Steven Tyler, he is so comical and those facial expressions, and when he sings and hits that high note, and you can see the back of his skull he opens his mouth so wide.  I was a little curious about his taking kind of a shine to the one girl, she even got a hug. Not sure what he meant to say when he was talking to her, as he didn't even say it to be bleeped he just dropped the word. Unlike the beginning when they bleeped him when he said something about a duck. The last singer and the story of him and his fiance had Jeff and I, and even the big old Randy Jackson crying, you could see a big tear fall to the floor when he was standing there, what a sad story, it sure makes you want to be thankful for everything you have and live each day to the fullest.

Well speaking of that, I have used up this whole day as it is almost midnight.  Have an awesome Thursday and thanks for stopping in.
