As I look around I am thinking, what did I do today? I was busy all day but didn't get any stamping done. I did dishes, I did lots of paperwork, I am such a horrible procrastinator in balancing the check books, I need to not be like that, and that will have to be one of the things I make a new years resolution about. That took me hours to do, and I don't look forward to getting all my tax papers together either, but that too I need to make sure to do as soon as January gets here and not wait.
I took a power nap today, and it felt good, my power naps are like an hour or more long, so that might be a power sleep, but anyway, I needed it.
When I got up Jeff was home from work and I had a stack of mail on the counter, Christmas cards, swap cards, and a box from my BFF Tracy.
I wanted to share the gorgeous Christmas card that was inside.
These two sets look super together, and look at that beautiful sky.
Look at all that dazzling diamonds snow. That is as close to snow as I want to get.
So Jeff has been talking about the remake of True Grit since he started seeing previews, he has tomorrow off so we are going to go see it. I had wanted to watch the original first to jog my memory even though Jeff keeps quoting lingo from the movie, but it is hard to find. I did find it in Blue Ray but we don't have that machine. I will look online and get it somewhere after Christmas, I am sure with the remake they will re-print it.
Well I am gonna say nightie night.
Have an awesome Friday, Christmas eve day. Thanks for stopping in!
That's a gorgeous card, you're a lucky girl to have such a sweet BFF!! Give us your review of True Grit, if you and Jeff go to see it, I think it will be fun to see an updated version.
Merry Christmas to you and your family, Di!!
Beautiful card! I too like to mix up stamps sets. My dh is just dying to see True Grit! We will wait for DVD. It would have been a great gift but we don't have Blue Ray either.
You guys have a great holiday!
That card is beautiful!! If you get the Turner Classic Movie station – they have been playing John Wayne movies all week – True Grit was on a few days ago – but I'm sure they will play it again – it's the one where some fella shot this girls dad and she enlists John Wayne to go after him and kill him.
I've seen it a long time ago and am curious to see how the remake will be with Matt Damon and Jeff Bridges and Josh Brolin. I loved Jeff Bridges in Crazy Heart – did you see it yet?
Luv ya
Jax
What a beautiful card from your BFF. I know about the checkbook thing and I say every time I balance it that I'm not going to let it go so long but then there I am doing the same thing over and over again. Good luck on that one. True grit was just on TV here yesterday. I didn't know they did a remake. I will have to check it out. Who's taking John Wayne's place as if that's possible? Di, I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and can't wait to see you again in a couple of weeks. Happy Holidays!!
Merry Christmas eve to ya'll. For the second day in a row we had no patients on our floor. That is great for the patients, bad for business and our paychecks. When I heard I would be on call I actually pulled out the cleaning supplies and went insane cleaning the bathroom. This including getting on my hands and knees and scrubbing the baseboards with a toothbrush. Then I washed all the cabinets down big time. Of course, I did the usual cleaning of the toilet, sink and bathtub. When I finished the bathroom I came into the living room/dining room and cleaned it to within an inch of its' life. That included along the chair rail, on all the door frames, the doors, the lamp shades and all the things you would normally do. The bead board that was by Roscoe's sometimes bed was caked with mud (how come I haven't seen it till now). I scrubbed that with a toothbrush to get in the cracks. Today I am going to go insane in the kitchen. Why you ask don't I let the cleaning slave, oops I mean daughter do it? Well I needed the outlet and I did the job like it really should be done. Family is coming over Sunday and I want at least the front of the house to be spotless. I don't care about our bedroom being that way but the front will be. Daughter will be over on Sunday morning to clean the floors and she is going to do a bang up job (or else). It is going to be a white Christmas for us and has already started. I hope you have an absolutely wonderful time with everyone and have a blessed Christmas.
Carey and Roscoe (who doesn't help clean at all)
Just saw a special on True Grit and they are not calling this one a "remake" as it follows closer to the book and not the original movie. Should be interesting to see what people think of it. Have fun going.
Love ya',
Mel
re: balancing checkbooks……I'm pretty sure if you still have checks you still have money! LOL! Merry Christmas from Kansas!
I saw the old "True Grit" in the Redbox 2 days ago!
Another stunning card…. thanks so much for sharing it. And I agree, will be waiting for your review of the movie. My hubby wants to go see it but I'm dragging my feet (and causing scuff marks….hehehe)
Merry Christmas to you & yours…..
I am a major True Grit fan — I had a huge crush on Glen Campbell when I was young. I don't want to see the remake, though. Tell Jeff that my favorite scene and line from the original is when John Wayne says, "Fill your hands, you son of a b!tch!" and rides his horse, as only he could, against all the bad guys. Make sure you let us know how the new one is…maybe you can convince me to see it!
Merry Christmas Diana, Jeff and Eric!!
Jeff Bridges is great but he'll never surpass the "one-eyed fat man" that was John Wayne. I loved the book, too (they serialized it in the Sat. Eve. Post). The movie did mess with the ending, just like they did with "The Man Who Loved Cat Dancing." Burt Reynolds lived! What's up with that? LOL Tracy's card is awesome. I don't have the sleigh, but I have a deer!
Stunning card.
Merry Christmas.
