You Can’t Get Any Fresher Than This!

It was only fate that I found this sign today at a new antique store Lauren and I found when just this morning I watched Clara lay this…

Yes folks step right up, be amazed by the freshest egg that many of us will ever see. I know I have never seen a chicken lay an egg. Have you?  I mean I have been out there when they are laying, and then I go back out and then the eggs are laying there. But this time, when I went out Clara was laying there and I had already collected two.  I said "are you done?" and she looked at me, and then she wiggled around a little bit and I could see her butt, so I scooted a little closer and she pooped in my eye! Ahh ok just kidding, but I got you there didn't I? You jumped away from the computer even. OK so anyway, I scooted down and couldn't see anything, and then she kinda stood up, and put her backside towards me, and then she poofed up really big and even her wings were kinda out, and you could see her straining, but she didn't cluck or anything and then "plop!" there it was.  I so wish I had of put my hand in there to catch it, or had my danged camera to video tape it but I didn't want to mess with her too much, I was thankful that she trusted me enough to actual do that with me watching.  After it was over, I picked it up, all nice and warm, and I thanked her and she just walked on out of the nesting box. So very cool!  I wanna hang the sign on the coop somewhere.

So let me show you a couple other things I got, I am not getting much else "stuff" wise till the room is done, I still am looking for the perfect desk, been checking out Craig's List especially since Dee in N.H. (hey honey!!) sent me to this one blog where the girl spruces up stuff, well it lead me to a blog called The Frosted Gardner. OMG! It is amazing the stuff her and her hubby does.  I think Jeff should do that when he retires.  We can shop together find those perfect pieces and he can work his magic.  So anyway Lauren and I were looking at the blog and then decided to check out a few Good Will stores, and then this new antique place we had never been to.

I got this organizer dealie, it is not old as it had a Ross sticker on the back, but I got it cheap, I am gonna shabby chic it up with vanilla paint and my glaze (I'm really not into the blue) and keep it on my desk with my Stampin' Up! catalogs in it, so I always know where they are.  I can also keep the remotes and my little camera in the front ones too.  I will show you when I get it done.

Oh and say see ya later alligator colored little bead, I will be taking that off and putting something else more suitable…I am thinking perhaps a Pearl.

Lauren found this humongous mason jar in the holder and she didn't want it, so I snagged it.  Not sure what I am gonna do yet, but somewhere in blog-dome I saw where someone made a table top centerpiece with Mason jars of different heights and put candles in them. Hmmm…wheels are turning.

I also wanted to show you the final card for my Stamp a Stack of Christmas card for this Saturday, Sunday & Monday.

I got the card from Kimberly Van Diepen's Founder's Circle swap, and I just changed it slightly.  This is Kimberly's…thanks for the amazing card Kimberly.

Since I was already using this image on another card, I changed the image and I also did not use a Designer button as I want the girls to mail out their cards, and I also tamed down the striped ribbon a bit too.

I loved using the little button brads (I have so many of them as I am addicted to the little safety pin that comes with them), cause I would imagine the kids would have little buttons on their winter coats, so I think the brads look cute on here.

A few of you have asked me about the journal I posted yesterday.  You need to make sure you have gone in and downloaded the latest version of My Digital Studio.  In fact I believe it asks you to check when you turn it on, but I think you can manually check too.

Then when you open it up, the journal is part of the choices. Click on journal and this is the one that is the template I just altered it a tiny bit.

Well holy moly it's almost midnight, how does that happen?

Have an awesome Friday, I got a couple things printed out off of Craig's List to go check out and Jeff has tomorrow off so I want to do that. I have read that you really don't want to be going to these places alone. Wish me luck on my treasure hunt and wish me luck I clean up my chaos mess for class Saturday morning.

Thanks so much for stopping in, I really appreciate it!

LOL..I remember when we were kids and the chickens would start clucking…we would run outside…dodging the attack rooster in the garden and go into the hen house and wait with outstretched hands for the special delivery! Fun!
Can't wait to see your room…I am excited to do mine up too but have so many things to think about for the new house that the details for the room will have to wait until we are unpacked and settled!!
    Keep shopping.

You should check out this blog…she had linky parties and you would get loads of ideas for using things "out of the box" style.
This was her last Saturday Night Linkup…go to the end..there are a few different links themed parties to click on…have fun!

Woo hoo I think I'm first. It's 1:30 AM here in MO and I'm at work. I just read the posting and you have some great things on it. WTG Clara. I bet that was really neat watching that (can you tell I am not really a country girl?). I have a bunch of antique canning jars but have never seen a carrier. I'll have to find one of those. I love the cards. Everyone is going to have such a fun time this weekend making all your great ideas. I still can't find the journal in my MDS. Would you come over and show me? Also, bring Toby since Roscoe would love to meet him.

Was the egg shell still a little soft when it plopped out of the chicken or was it hard already? I seem to remember in the past they harden up quickly once they come out, but initially they can still be a bit soft – I might be totally off my rocker, but I think I remember that from some time. I can't wait to see your room when it is all done. We will have to go antiquing when you come home for Courtney's wedding!
    Luv ya

Some great finds! Our dream (DH and I) is to restore old stuff when we are "retired old stuff". Dh loves to restore old tractors and I love re-purposed and rescued stuff.

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
