Snow Cute!

This 'n' That

Marlenes Christmas card 2010 close

My nerves must be acting up and I don't know about it. I got a freaking cold sore coming. I hope I have nibbed it in the bud, I have been putting medicine on it and also have been taking lysine.  Ugh! I hate them, it has probably been a year since I got one. I thought for sure I would have got one before Convention. So I guess I should be thankful that it has come now and hopefully it will be all cleared up before Leadership in January. I just keep telling myself slow down, just breath, ha! What sucks is I had a dentist appointment for Wednesday and I called to cancel it, I don't want them messing around in my mouth, plus I don't think they want to be doing it either, I know in the last two days I have seen two people with cold sores, and I think that my body was like hey I haven't had one of those in a while. At least it was just a cleaning, but I hate having to cancel it and I hope the aren't mad.

So as I was driving around the other day, I was like there is nothing sadder then seeing those poor blow up Christmas lawn decorations all flat during the day, it's like they have been killed. There is one on the way to town that is a hunting snowman, he has an orange hunting hat , a vest and a gun. He stays up all the time, maybe the owners think he can defend himself, where as the little penguin is not quite so brave.

I wanted to share with you a beautiful Christmas card and ornament I got from MAMMa.

Marlenes Christmas card 2010 full
I love how she used the stamp set French Foliage to make the poinsettia, and then adding the pearls in the center.

And look at the cute ornament she made.

Marlenes Tag
I want to make these so bad. I will have to remember for next year, cause this year is so done.

As I type this Chopped is on the Food network and I am wondering who the heck picks the ingredients that these poor chefs have to cook with. They just used a squab and I am thinking that is pigeon.  Now they have to use cotton candy with a bunch of fruit and stuff. I don't know who I feel worse for, the chefs or the poor people that have to eat it.

OMG! I just saw an ad for a thing called Soda Stream, it makes pop! Years ago when Jeff and I were dating, Jeff's Mum used to make pop all the time when the Schwan man used to sell it. It was so good, in fact she finally only let us have so many, cause she only had so many bottles. I am gonna look into the Soda Stream and see what it is all about. Not that we need to be drinking pop, but boy it sure brings back some great memories.

Well I better hit the hay, it's almost midnight.  I just don't know how the day goes by so fast.

Have an awesome Wednesday and thanks for stopping in!

Those items that MAMMa made are awesome. I did one of those snowmen – not as an ornament, but on one of my clipboards and on a card – they are fun! and so easy!! which is the best part – I didn't put glitter on mine though – but that certainly adds to it!!!
    Luv ya

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the deflated decorations are odd. I just wanted to pop by and wish you a merry Christmas. I love your work and thought you should know. Thanks for all the wonderful creations!

Your MOMMA is so great. Love her card and I, too, will have to remember this little snowman with his totally diff perspective – lookin' up! I don't get cold sores, I get ulcers in my mouth when I am stressed. Haven't had one for a while. shhhhh! I was thinking yesterday how depressing to see all the "dead" yard blowups! Great minds. I avoid the competitive cooking shows like the plague. These people love stress which I can't handle as "entertainment." Give me Guy and Triple D any day. Pure fun, no stress. FYI, Alton Brown decides on the ingredients for some of those shows, can't remember which one. Iron Chef, maybe, something else I avoid. Good luck with the sodas. I remember Schwann's, too. Hugs!

    Hi Diana,

Sorry I didn't get around to sending you a Holiday Card the traditional way but I wanted to say thank you for all that you do and share so willingly and a big hug for the Holiday Season. I loved finally meeting you in person at Convention… See you in 2011! Be safe 🙂

It's so nice to hear someone else call it pop! I'm from the upper Midwest where if you ask for "soda" people look at you funny, but now live on the East Coast where people don't know what you mean when you say "pop"! I can't break the habit, though, and it made me smile to see someone else call it that!

Have a great day and hope your cold sore goes away soon–I'm getting over one myself. Mine are always on the outside of my nose between my lip and septum. Very annoying and hard to mask. Abreva has been a godsend!

Oh that card is just fantastic. I am still trying to keep myself from buying that stamp set. I have sooooo many leaf stamp sets I don't need another but… this one is so cute. Sorry about the cold sore. I hope mine doesn't break out in sympathy for you. Did you know you can also get them from being out in the sun? No danger of that here we have been overcast for quite a few days. Well enough blabbering from me.

Mama's project are wonderful, did she use craft white to stamp the leaves? Triple anitibiotic cream will make that fever blister go away fast fast if it starts to blister. I'm like you I take the Lysine when I get the little lightening bolts in my lip, that is my que. Holidays Hugs and Merry Christmas~

    Hi Paulette,
Yes MAMMa used the white craft pad to stamp the leaves and then she cut them out.
    Thanks for the creme advice.

    Hugs, and Merry Christmas

I love my soda stream, I use it for the bubbley water. They have no calorie flavors for plain water and flavor packs for pop type drinks. My favorite is the orange soda.
    Have a Merry Christmas.

Just took a batch of coconut macaroons out of the oven, and have a few minutes left on the second batch. I've never made them before or even eaten them before, so thank you for sharing the recipe!! They are delicious! I love sweets, but I love the way these are not too sweet.
Just wanted you to know I was thinking about you tonight as I was cooking. Hope you have a very Merry Christmas!!!

Man-o-man! Memories of the Schwann man… LOL! When I was in HS and my folks farmed & ranched out in the high plains of SW Kansas, we lived 15 miles out in the country and the Schwann Man was the best face to see on a hot summery day. I wished we'd had tried the pop thing, but mom was into just about everything else they had on the menu.

Keep us informed how this new pop thing works out!
Loved the card inked up with markers, and the bread recipe looks good. What a nice birthday y'all celebrated. And what a nice blog you have!
I hope you are not affected by all the freak rain storms- I pray for everyone that it stops.
