Life’s a Journey

DSCN3089 copy

So write about it…or at least jot it down.

Lookee what I got today!! I was so excited when I made this and I could not wait for it to get here. I love it!  I am always writing stuff on pieces of paper and losing them. Well no more.  When I get a aha! moment that needs to be remembered to tell you about, this is where I will write it.  When I get a card idea, or anything I want to remember, in here it will go. When I hear about a book I want to read, I am putting it in here. I'm gonna make up one to keep in my truck to keep track of mileage. Oh and I want to make one to take to Leadership. Oh and I just got to thinking (this will tell me if my little sister Courtney is reading my blog or not) how cool would it be to make one for her wedding and it will be the Guest book? OMG! I know right? I am like brilliant!

Don't you wish you had one of your own? Of course you would want yours to say "Tracy's Tidbits of Info" or something like that. It can say anything your little heart desires. I loved this template and barely changed it, I just added a few more flowers I think.

It's filled with 80 lined sheets of paper, so you will have plenty of room to write in it.

Wouldn't this be a great journal to start out 2011, if you started a diary, perhaps you are starting a diet and need to keep track of the food you are eating…oh keep reading cause I got to tell you about our supper…but back to the journal…

And just so no one steals my beautiful book, look what I put on the backside. The backside was plain I think so I spruced it up a little.

Now unless I have an evil twin lurking, I do believe my journal is safe.

Would you like one? Well if you own My Digital Studio and have updated it to the latest version, you can make one! Yep! Cool eh?  If you don't have My Digital Studio and you would like me to make one just for you, just let me know and I can tell you the cost.

So today I also picked the winning ticket for the free stamp sets for the month of November and the winning ticket was:

DSCN3090
Congratulations Sharon! I sent you an email, so make sure to give me a buzz when you get it. Thanks to everyone for placing orders last month, I really appreciate it.  This month is my 12 Days of Christmas specials and today is Day 2, so make sure you have signed up so you are getting my daily emails (that is different then my blog feed), then you won't miss out!

OK so I mentioned early about a food diary, well IF I did that today would not have been good, the food was delicious but I am sure that the calories were very very high. But oh well here goes…ha!  My friend Susanna Boyd, the Paper Craft Planet guru, she told me about a Pioneer Woman mashed potato recipe so I made those…to make it short, potatoes, cream cheese, butter, half & half and salt and pepper. OMG! They were so delicious. And cause I love ya here's the link.

Then my sweet friend Rhonda, that I am missing so much cause I have not seen her in like it seems forever, has been telling me how she loves to put a pork loin in the crock pot and pour a jar of salsa over it and let it cook all day.  Well I got me a pork loin the other day, and a jar of salsa.  So this morning, I'm like gee to me it did not sound that good (sorry Rhonda but it just didn't).  Well I remembered when I was talking about the crockpot the other day, quite a few of you emailed me to read this blog. So I thought I would just go over there to see what she would do with a pork loin and I'll be gosh darned if someone did not comment with this same idea BUT they added 1 cup brown sugar to the salsa, and I'm like well heck if it's got brown sugar that will make it taste even better.  Well let me tell you. I could get my butt up right now from my computer and go heat me up a third serving, but it's almost 10:30 at night and I am sure that is not what I need for a nightime snack. But I'll give you one guess what I'm having for lunch tomorrow…ha! So Rhonda, I apologize for second guessing you on the salsa, and next time you make it, add the brown sugar.

Let's see what else I got written down to tell you.  Oh yeah, Yahoo!! The watercolor wonder crayons are now available.  But just a little hint.  If you are getting my 12 Days of Christmas emails…ummm…well that's all I'm saying.

Ok, that is it for me tonight, my friends. I'm gonna hit the hay with my upside down "Love Rosie" book, and I am enjoying it even if when I read it in public it looks like I'm a spy or something.  I really do want to go somewhere with it, and then kinda look around full of mischief and see if anyone says anything. Like Inspector Clouseau…wonder what I did with my beige trench coat? Ha!

Have a lovely Thursday and thanks for stopping in!

Signature white 5

I love your pretty book. I need to make me one after I get done making Christmas stuff. Yup, all that stuff that I was going to have done early? Still working on Christmas cards! Ack! Good news on the crayons finally? I've been dying for the new colors!

It's me again! Just delete this afterwards but wanted to share a link with you. This site is so cool for ideas on refinishing old stuff and recycling junk around the house. It's a mix of all things crafty and I always think of you when they have cool refinishing stuff. I just didn't want to "advertise" someone else on your blog. NOT my blog but just a place I like to visit.

What feathery outfit is that you are holding Sharon D's name over?? Thanks for the cooking links! some of those recipes look good. And the potatoes – almost exactly the same as my potato casserole recipe that is in that tag recipe book I did for the cruise!
They are yummy! The little book is cute. I need a journal to write down my "aha" moments too!
    Luv ya

Hey Diana, I LOVE your book, and I DO have MDS and it is updated! Can you post the directions on how you did it? Pretty please??

I totally understand what you're talking about with the Pioneer Woman's recipes! I have her cookbook on my coffee table (along with lots of my homemade cards and my SU catalog!) and the parents of my piano students get to look at all that stuff while I teach their kids piano. One of the mom's ordered herself a copy of the cookbook right away, and another one said "Hmmm… These look like good recipes, but I don't think they'd be endorsed by The American Heart Association!" I'm a regular reader of TPW's blog and I had to make a dessert for Bible Study the other night, and I made her Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie. If you go to her website, just search do a search and you'll find it. It's a no-bake pie and the crust alone is about half a package of oreos (you process them in the food processor) and half a stick of butter!! It's YUMMY!

So please post the directions to making your notebook – it's lovely!

Your journal is super cute! I finally purchased MDS and will have to try making one of my own soon! Thanks for the pork & salsa crockpot suggestion, as well as the link to the crockpot365 blog… she's got some great sounding recipes that I'm definitely gonna try! Love your blog… keep up the good work!! 🙂

I love the journal. How do you find it? I have looked around my MDS and I think I have the latest one downloaded. To make sure of this I downloaded a new one this morning. I still can't find it. That pork loin sounds fantastic, especially using Dean's (DH) homemade salsa from our own vegetables. I hope your day is going great.

I loved that journal design too, and just ordered a journal for myself last Monday. I changed just a few things to make it more mine. I gave it the title of "My Musings". Thought it might inspire me a bit!

Love the potato recipe – being from Wisconsin, anything with cheese in it goes in my recipe folder (and on my hips!)

    Hi Dianna,
Your journal is very neat. I would be interested to know what fonts you used for the front and back. Also where is the template found?
    Thanks,
    Heather

I gained a pound reading the PWC recipe for mashed potatoes! Buttah! My fave food group! She had a garlic bread recipe long ago that I swear used a pound of butter for one loaf of French bread!
