Cupcake Wars

This 'n' That

7 Sep

DSCN2614 copy

Do you watch the Food Network?  I like to have it on or Home & Garden, it's noise while I stamp (if I don't have music on), and I like hearing the ideas.  I have watched a couple episodes of the Cupcake Wars and I don't know how they possibly crank out 1,000 cupcakes in like 2 hours.  The other day the girl that won was from Gilbert, Arizona.  I am glad she won the guy she was up against seemed too cocky and he was a real kiss a$$, the whole time he was like making the Duff guy's (he was the one they were making the cupcakes for – he has the Ace of Cakes show) emblem on everything, he put his face on stuff, it was just too much, plus his final display really sucked.

Today Jeff made smoked BBQ ribs, so yummy, I also made my little sister Courtney's potato salad, and those danged cinnamon rolls.  I have a screaming head ache so I wonder if I had to much sugar today. It's not a migraine just a head ache.

 Courtney's Potato Salad

3 lbs. medium sized small red skin potatoes with skin left on

1 cup sour cream

2/3 cups mayonnaise

1 tbsp. chopped fresh dill or 1 tsp. dried dill

2 tsp. chopped fresh parsley plus extra for garnish

1 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper

In large saucepan, cover potatoes with cold water.  I cut the potatoes up into bite size pieces with the skin left on (cause that is what Court does).  Bring to boiling over high heat, cook until tender, about 20 minutes.  Drain. Meanwhile in a large bowl stir together sour cream, mayo, dill, parsley, salt and pepper.  While the potatoes are still warm put them in with the sour cream mixture and toss to coat.  Cover and refrigerate over night.  Court serves hers warm and so did I, cause I could not wait to try it out.  You can garnish with additional parsley if desired.  So easy and yummy!

I need to make up a few cards using the Hostess set Birthday Bakery, so I got looking around the internet and found some cute ones to case (copy and share everything).  The first one I did was from Kathleen Hopperstad. All I did was change the punch border and the ribbon.  Thanks for the cute card to case Kathleen!

 Stamp Set: Birthday Bakery

Paper: Basic Black, Pretty in Pink, Shimmery White

Ink: Jetblack Stazon, Pretty in Pink, Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz, Sahara Sand

Misc: Blushing Bride Stitched ribbon, Scallop Trim Border punch, Elegant Lines Embossing folder

So today when I let Toby out (and I have to go with him or he stands at the door even if he has to potty and won't go till I come out…crazy nut!) but I saw this cute little guy, so I ran back into the house for my Bad Girl camera to try out the zoom and stuff.

Look how cute he is. They do these push up kinda things, I think it might be like a opposite sex kinda thing. "oh look how many push-ups Ralphie is doing, wow he is so sexy!"

I got a little closer and then he moved to the rock.

He was checking out the chickens.  I love how the background is fuzzy. I can pretend I know what I am doing when I take pictures…ha!

IMG_0153 copy
This one you can see the red on the underside of his neck. See how he kinda looks like the rock color? Very cool camouflage.

Here he is on the backside of the wood.  He is not that big of a guy. I have not seen as many lizards this year as last year.

Well I am gonna call it a night,  I have to be over to MAMMa's bright and early so we can finish everything up.

Have a great Tuesday (even though all day Monday I thought it was Sunday).  Thanks for stopping in!

Back at ya once again … I do truly like your cards … love the lizard too :0 If the lizards out here in Cave Creek would ever stand still long enough I would take a pic for you 🙂 I also have a labrador who, sometimes if I don't stant outside with her, will either lay down on our patio or the back yard and I have to go out and tell her to go potty 🙂
    blessings,
    Diana

We have tons of geckos in central FL. Sometimes they go all Gojiro on us. "Gojiro" is how the Japanese say "Godzilla" in those silly movies. On the carpet in the living room, they start pumping up and down, like, "Bring it! I can take you! You don't scare me! What's that? A broom? Noooooooo! Not the broom!" Loving your Bad Girl pics. Can't wait till you quit teasing us with bits and pieces!

You and your cinnamon rolls. After reading all those posts about them, I was no longer able to resist the delicious smell of them when I went to IKEA this weekend. I bought a 6 pack and Mark and I ate them in two days. They were yummy, although I'm sure your homemade rolls are much better. I think you should start talking about carrots and cellery more. 😉
Your card is super cute by the way, but again, keep the veggie thing in mind. 😉 hehe

I'm so flattered you case'd one of my cards Diana! I love your coloring of the cakes! Good luck with all of those swaps for Founder's Circle – I can't wait to see the finished product.
