A Case & a Chase

Being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

21 Aug

IMG_0080 copy

This morning I got up and my left eye felt kinda tight, if that makes any sense at all.  So I got Eric up and ready for work, I fed the "chicks" and I sat down at the computer.  I tell myself every morning to stay out of my studio until 9am. Myself does not listen and I usually get in here before I even shower, bad Di.

So anyway, I was working with the computer and I was like what the heck I couldn't even read the screen.  It was like there were blind holes all over.  You know like you look at something bright like a flash and there is blind spots? Yeah like that, and I was like oh no, not again. Sure enough I had an ocular migraine coming on.  I quickly went to eat some cereal just in case I had to get sick, I wanted something in my belly.  I took an excedrin and I went to lay down, I couldn't do anything, I was not even tired, and even closing my eyes I could still see these bright flickering things.  I finally fell asleep and I woke up a couple hours later and it was much better.  I had one several months ago, if you remember me talking about it.  I had two in highschool but they were way worse (I think being on birth control made them that way), the Doc said then it was a stroke, so that freaked me out.  But when I had the one a while back and the Doc said it was an ocular migraine, I felt better. So when this happened today I did not get scared like I did before, I just went and laid down.  Even now, if I look at something bright, like the computer screen, it does kinda mess with my eyesight for reading, but not like this morning.

My downline meeting, wait not meeting, that is too formal, we are now calling them "Sharing, Swapping & Chit Chat" get together is tomorrow, so I got my swap done.  I also made a card for all my out of state Country INKers that can't make it to the SS&CC.  I cased this card from Ilina Crouse, she is so talented that girl. Thanks Ilina, and it was nice chatting with you through email today.

Stamp Set: Elizabeth, Fabulous Phrases

Paper: Riding Hood Red, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Love Letter DSP

Ink: Early Espresso

Misc: Victoria Crochet Trim, Antique brads, Metallic brads, Sticky Strip, Distressing Essentials kit, corner rounder

So I took these pictures with my new camera, I am still getting it figured out.  I just have it on auto, a couple pics I took looked yellow and Melissa says she will show me how to fix that.  I do know that when I use Vanilla paper I do have that yellow issue, even with my old camera.

Here are the cards, some will be swapped tomorrow and the rest will be sent in the mail to the other girls.

So speaking of my camera, here are a few shots I took the other day.

Here is a bouganvilla plant we have up front.

Here is Toby, Jeff made me crop him out. Look how long his facial hair is getting.  The next time we get him groomed its coming off, I wanna try a puppy cut now that I heard about it.

Toby hates the camera, I mean he won't let you take his picture unless someone is holding him and even then, we had to keep calling his name to have him look.

So today I went in the bedroom and he was on the pillows on the floor, since I was a bad girl and did not make the bed after I had gone back to bed. I used my zoom to get this picture.

Well he quickly high tailed it here…

…can you see his little eye peeking out? What a crazy nut.

Well I am gonna get off here for tonight.

Have an awesome Saturday, and thank you so much for stopping in!

Well you sure have been busy.
    They look lovely.

Just a suggestion … when you get these migraines can you not wear sunglasses if lights are still bright for you… after you have taken tablets and laid your head down xx

Diana I hope you feel better soon. I know how they feel I get them but not quite as bad. I had that sick feeling you get and it
hurts just to have your head on the pillow.

BTW I love the card! TFS and Toby sure is a cutie!

I am so sorry you get ocular migraines. I get them too :(. Often, after the lost vision comes back, I have the most awful headache. I don't do well with Excedrin Migraine, so I just quickly drink a Dr. Pepper, my caffeine of choice, and eat something along with it to avoid getting sick, and usually the pain of the headache is lessened a great deal. Anyway, I'm so sorry, and I hope you don't have them very often.
    Very pretty card!!

Wow!! Sorry to hear about your Ocular Migraine!! That sounds annoying and painful all at the same time! I struggle with Lupus and Fibromyalgia myself, and yesterday, I could tell something wasn't right in my body. Then all of a sudden I got pain radiating our from my right thigh! I've NEVER gotten Fibromyalgia there before, but sleep usually helps (along with some good drugs). It got better last night, but I woke up to that pain again today! Sigh….and today is my son's 8th birthday party. God needs to help me push through this pain..and soon!!

    Sorry…I somehow needed to tell a "stranger" my issues….cause I can't talk ot my family. I gotta pretend I'm A-OK! :o}

    Hi Diana,

Glad to hear you are feeling better.. 🙂
I noticed the last few days you have posted cards that were created with the distressing essentials. I noticed this kit right away in the catalog and am a big fan of the distressed, shabby, or vintage look. I was wondering if you can post instuctions on how to use this kit.
As always, I enjoy reading your posts every day………..Thanks C

I hope that nasty headache is gone. I used to get migraines and they are no fun! Love the card. I always love your creative projects. Toby is so funny!! Camera shy, so cute. I don't blame you for getting the puppy cut although he is a real Casanova with that long hair. We get both the westies and Chinese Crested puppy cuts every summer. We are outdoors a lot and swimming and all that long coat is just too much to deal with!! Gotta love these little 4 legged sweeties! Take care of yourself.

Sorry about your migraine. I had the flashy lights a couple of times, but usually just, "Gawd, no, not other migraine" after which I had to take superior drugs and crash. The good news is, after 55, they pretty much went away. No more imitrex. I miss my designer dog (b/w Min Schnau). Your little Toby is so cute. Can't wait to see what a puppy cut looks like.

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
