Wanna See My Girls?

This 'n' That

28 Jul

Morning cup demo close

Huh?

What?

Really?

Well this is not that kind of blog! ha!

Let me introduce you to the new additions to our family.  For the longest time it has been me against 3 guys. Jeff, Eric and Toby…well ha! Now there are 5 girls to 3 guys.  I like those odds better.

Drum Roll please…….introducing the Gnomes…a.k.a. Chickens!

Alice copy
This is Alice (Black Sexlink), she seems to be the boss, and the know it all, so the name suited her perfectly (for all my Twilight Diehards)

Clara copy
This is Clara (Golden Comet), I love her, she seems so dainty. Thanks to Anna Wight, chicken, and stamping extroidinaire, she told me the breed.  I knew it was Golden something.

Gertieagain copy
This is Gertie (Barnevelder), I love her coloring, and can hardly wait to see what she grows up like.

Last but not least…

Stella
This is Stella (Rhode Island Red) – I took all these with My Precious and made a mistake into zooming in so she looks digital-y.  I hope to get better pics of them as they get more used to us, they are still a little skittish, but Alice did let me pet her this morning when she was in her nesting box.

Show me your butts girls copy
Chicken butts…ha! In our excitement to go get the girls last night, we forgot the feeder and waterer at the dang store…I ran back and got them today. So I was using substitute stuff in this picture. They seem to really get along well.  In fact they practically lay all over each other.

Under the Trees copy
This is where they live.  We moved the garbage pails (that hold the feed and nesting materials) to the back porch, we had a big wind and rain come tonight, and one lid went flying, so Jeff got it, and we figured the porch would probably be better.

So this is another one of the cards I demoed.  I love this one.  It shows the Getting Started Collection of colors.

Oh Di – I love chickens too! We used to have a flock of ten but as my husband gets transferred from place to place we haven't lived in a spot since where we could have any. Nothing like fresh, fresh eggs! Have fun – and I'm glad the balance has shifted in your male/female scenario!! :0)
    Absolutely love your card too!

I love them. The names you gave them are all just perfect. I told you I think the name Gertie for a chicken is perfect. (Sorry to all the girls out there with the name Gertrude or Gertie). I would love to have chickens but I am afraid Roscoe would think they were just for him to have a snack. Your card is just so beautiful and I really enjoyed seeing it onstage too. Hope you have recovered from convention. Can you believe a week ago today we were standing in line for Memento Mall? I can't believe it is already over.

Okay… this isn't about the chickens – however I love the chickens!! I LOVE the tea cup card – I was at convention – and saw two of your workshop theaters (we snuck in one…) and you were great! I had taken a photo of this teacup card on a board but did not realize it was one of your designs. LOVELY! I'd be remiss if I didn't mention how darn tiny you are in person… just adorable 🙂

Hi Sista! Love your new additions Had chickens when the kids were little and loved getting fresh eggs all the time. Enjoy them! Of course your girl's home looks like the Marriott. Ours stayed in a Motel 6!!! I posted the picture of us on my blog. Boy do I hate my picture being taken. But you look great and I'm glad we got to talk for a few minutes. I had a great time.

So cute. Of course I am partial to Stella being from Rhode Island and all ha! Can't have chickens – town ordinance. Co-worker brings me in blue eggs from her chicks. Card is adorable too! Karen

    Really darling card.
You are so fortunate to have space for the chickens. I'd love to have fresh eggs every day. They do have gorgeous coloring. Best of luck with them.

Your card is so cute! I saw it on the display board at Convention and had to CAS it. Yours is so beautiful. Mine still needs some work. Did you use watercolor pencils or markers to color in the tea cups? Here is my version: http://www.paperfairykris.blogspot.com Thanks so much for sharing and I am so happy I discovered you totally cute blog!!

I'm so jealous of your watercolouring!! I tried watercolouring my teacups and they look pretty sad compared to yours. TFS 🙂
