Free Hostess Set – WOW

Being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator· Tutorials/Tips

Diana Artistic Etchings Close

Eric got a new multi-purpose tool, kinda like a leatherman, it has all these gadgets on it, including a knife, and I was like ummm….is that a good idea? But I am the worry wart Mum ya know? So anyway he can use it at work so I was like, he is a big boy man. I have to keep telling myself this, but with his learning disabilities, he will always be a boy to me, and I will worry about him till I am long gone.

So anyway, I think he had it not quite a week and yesterday while he was opening it, he sliced his thumb. His work called and they cleaned him up and got it all medicated and bandaged and said he was fine.  It was not bleeding anymore, and did not look like it would need stitches.  When he came home we checked him out and cleaned it and repeated the whole thing.  Not once ever did he even cry the whole time, I would have been bawling and cursing.  So this morning, he did not want to go to work, and I asked him if he wanted me to take him to the Doc and he said maybe yeah.  So I made him an appointment at 11:15.

Not only am I a worry wart Mum, I am also a crazy excited want my catalog now Stampin' Up! Demonstrator who had her brand new catalog out for delivery and I was like "come on Curtis" (my man in brown's name), but we had to leave to get to the Doc in time, and we were not 5 minutes from home on the road, and lookee here there goes my UPS guy, and I was like crap if only the appt. was at 11:30, I would have had my catalog to look at in the Docs office, oh well, c'est la vie.

Eric got checked out and the Doc did some steri stripping (good thing I had those one dollar bills in my purse…oh baby! – just kidding) and he gauzed it and put a metal thing on it to kinda protect it, but he was like Eric can use the hand, he prescribed him some antibiotics just in case, and that was that.  Now I worry about the antibiotics…does it ever end?  Jeff is allergic to penicillin and tetracycline and I am allergic to a whole bunch of antibiotics, including the one they gave Eric.  They said watch him, and that just cause we are allergic does not mean he will be, but you never know.

So once we got home and I got my new goodies and checked out the Beautiful new catalog, it was time for supper. I didnt get anything done today.  I did stamp up this card though with some new goodies, including a Level One Hostess set called Because I Care (It has a few greetings, and has the Hydrangea that I used in the background).  If you sign up to be a Demonstrator this month, and you order the Color Kit that is a free gift for ordering it…it is si belle.

Diana Artistic Etchings Side
Stamp Set: Artistic Etchings (new), Because I Care (new)

Paper: Perfect Plum, Crumb Cake, Basic Black

Ink: Jetblack Stazon, Versamark

Misc: Stampin' Pastels, Gold Glow Smooch, Log Cabin Smooch, Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta (new)

I was going to tie knots or bows on the ribbon, but I liked it just on there plain, as it kinda is like the iron bar things on the Eiffel Tower .

This card is made using the Poppin' Pastels technique.  It reminded me of a card years ago by my friend Karen Barber, so I just updated it with new stuff.

Tip: To do Poppin' Pastels, stamp your image with versamark ink on light cardstock, then take your Stampin' pastels and a sponge dauber and in a tapping motion add the pastel color to the versamarked image that you stamped on the paper. The pastel powder on the sponge will stick to the image.  Only do one image at a time so it stays sticky.  Then I just stamped the other images over top with black.  Neat eh?

The Smooch Spritz was added last. Hey don't forget to sign up for my newsletter, my Technique Lover's Class this month you will be getting your very own Smooch Spritz for coming to class.

So as I was making this card I had the TV on and had the movie "Once Bitten" on, a vampire movie of course, and oh my gosh it was cheesy.  I remember seeing it years ago and I am sure in it's time it was not cheesy.

Well I am calling it a day, and will bid you adieu, thanks so much for stopping in!

I hope Eric's finger will be OK….. I LOVE that stamp set. My daughter (she's 11)recently started liking Paris-y things for her room. That would be the perfect set.

That card is beautiful! I love the colours. Give Eric a big hug for me and tell him to make sure he lets you know right away if he is feeling weird at all from those antibiotics.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he is not allergic.
    Luv ya

Di — so glad Eric is okay. Sometimes us mums worry for good reason!

Your card is GORGEOUS!! I didn't expedite my order, so I guess it will be awhile before I get my stuff. In the meantime, I will just have to lust from afar!

I am glad Eric is ok. I have stopped Perry (my UPS dude) on the road before going to our house. There is a definite advantage to living in a small town. He knows me (and Roscoe) if I am in town and can give me my stuff. I ordered the same stuff you did so far, except the black ribbon. I got the white so hopefully I can dye it any color with the markers. Come on Perry bring me my stuff. I love the card and will definitely CASE it if that is ok.

Di, this card is absolutely beautiful – hope we get that set in Aus! I hope we get that set! We have to wait till August to get the new IB&C 🙁 but I am sure it will be worth it! Hope that Eric feels better now and that he goes back to work without worrying that he might cut himself again, he sounds like a really good kid.

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
