Pumpkin Pie

This 'n' That

6 May

DSCN1627 copy

So last week I needed a Dutch Oven to do a roast, I wanted to dry a different recipe then cooking it in the oven like usual.  So I drove here and there to get a good deal on one, man they are expensive, so I finally found one at a store that fit my pocket book and it is a Calphalon brand, and oh my gosh, can I actually love a piece of cookware? The pot is heavy duty, and non stick on the inside, but this funky stuff on the outside, the lid is glass so I can see through it and the lid is brilliant, it has this lip on the inside so when you are cooking and the steam is building on the inside of the lid, and you lift the lid to stir, the steam water drips INTO THE LIP, and NOT all over the stove.  Brilliant!  Oh and it is made in Ohio, how cool is that? It just goes to show as I age I am easier to please.  So anyway I was telling Jeff for Mother's Day if he wants to get me a big skillet in this brand I would be so happy.  Yeah if I had tried telling myself that when we first got married, "oh I want cookware"…not bloody likely. I guess I have mellowed out.

I want to thank Patti Lee for the following blog award…thanks Patti!

Sunshine-Award

Another one of the cards from my Stamp a Stack is this quick cute Pumpkin Pie monochromatic card.

Well American Idol, what can I say?

First off you had Lady Gag Gag on there, with her strategically placed lace and poofs of smoke so we couldn't see where it was blowing up. If you catch my drift. With her black mesh head wrap she looked like a bee catcher in mourning. Why do they put music on like this? Were those guys zombies or something? Now I will admit if I looked away from the TV, and just listened, even though I did not understand the song, it did have a catchy beat to it.  Am I gonna run out and buy it's CD? Not unless theres a Lee Dewyze poster in it, and I think that is fairly unlikely.

Kara, what the heck was she wearing? It looked like she borrowed some of Simon's clothes, old faded jeans and was that a sleeveless undershirt she had on? But wait, oh wait, she put on a big old necklace, there that dressed it up…NOT!

Randy, I swear his head looked smaller, is that weird or what? Maybe he is losing weight, cause I know when I start to lose my face always gets smaller first, and maybe since I have hair I just don't realize my whole head is shrinking and not just my face.

Harry Croonick Jr. Man does he have a set of pipes.  If you have not seen him in "PS I Love You" and "New In Town", you gotta see these movies. I did notice his mouth is a little crooked and never noticed it before, Lee has a bit of a crooked smile too, so maybe they are Brothers from another Mother. They did seem to really hit it off.

Well I was sad to see Aaron go home.  I know his Aunt and I guess I was hoping he would hang around a bit longer.  I am sure we will see him on the country charts sometime as that is where he totally is the best at.

So next week is Jamie Foxx as the mentor, he should be good and it is movie songs, so that will be interesting. I also read that he might be the new judge to replace Simon.  Wonder who will replace Kara, cause that chick has gotta go, gotta go, gotta go right now.

Well I am headed to bed, gotta get up early in the morning, plus my anti-virus scan is running in the background as I am typing this and it makes everything work soooo slowwww.

Have an awesome Thursday and thanks for stopping in!

I love the monochromatic cards. They are just so easy and look so great.
You make me laugh with the cookware comment. Joe got me a Dyson vacuum cleaner a couple of years ago and I love it! It does not lose it's suction! and it was purple to boot!
AI..I too was sad to see Aaron go – but it is getting down to the wire so we know it had to happen at some point – my prediction was Big Mike this week, then Aaron next week, then Casey the week after and then Crystal and Lee will be the final two.
    Luv ya

If you ever get the chance to see Harry Connick Jr. in concert, jump at it. It was one of the best concerts I have ever seen. I am not too crazy about his acting but he is a wonderful live entertainer.

I laughed out loud at your post. I got a set of new cookware for Christmas, and what a difference. Ya, 10 years ago, I wouldn't have thanked anyone for it, but now .. ya, it's fabulous! Glass lids let you see what's goin on in there and that has to be the greatest thing! Do you have one of those chef's grater planers? If I could marry it …

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
