How to Train a Dragon”fly”

This 'n' That

8 May

DSCN1644 copy

So today was a "me" day, I don't know what else to call it.  I went for a pedicure, and I had not had one since right before Leadership and that was in January.  I still had some red polish on the tips of my big toes, how attractive does that sound eh?  It looked like a red french manicure.  Since it has been winter and I have been wearing cowboy boots or shoes, no one saw my toes anyway, but now the warmer weather is here. So I went for my ped, got a french manicure, it has been a year I bet since I did that, the last few times I went for color, but I love the look of a french and it says summer.

What else says summer? New flip flops.  So I stopped after getting my truck washed, at the shoe store, and they were having a sale, so I got a cute pair of black flip flops, and they have a wedge heel, and are so comfortable, I feel so sexy…from the ankles down.

Then I came home and read a bit.  I am trying to finish Odd Thomas so I can start my new Burned book, and then I promise to start PS I Love You. But Mandy wants us to read Burned together so I need to start it, she will read the book in one day, so we may start it the same time but we won't end it the same.  I read, nap, read. That takes a while to get through a book.  Laying on the bed with Toby snuggled up beside me while reading probably does not help.

So I met Mandy at the Deli for supper, she had never been before, since she lives in a far away land called Phoenix, and it was fun seeing her, it has been a while.  We then went to MAMMa's for class, and we did four birthday cards, so I am not only happy to hang out with some fun peeps for a few hours, laughing and stamping and sometimes doing more laughing then the stamping, but now I have 4 days of cards to post…Yeehaw!

MAMMa gets her inspiration from Stampin' Connection ( a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator forum – gotta love that fun perk!) and Splitcoaststampers and other places on-line, she does not remember where she sees the cards, so if you are blog cruising and you spot your card, be honored that she loved your card enough to case it for class, and please don't be mad that your name is not referenced.

This first card uses the new Square Lattice Embossing Folder that you can get for FREE until May 15 with a qualifying order, this special is from ME only and NOT Stampin' Up! See my post here for more details. If you want to take advantage of the clearance rack items, and your order qualifies ($75.00 before tax and shipping) then I will have to mail you your folder.  Give me a shout before placing your order if you have any questions.

Stamp Set: Asian Artistry, I am not for sure where the happy birthday came from, you could use any small set

Ink: Soft Suede, Dusty Durango

Paper: Kraft, Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Thoroughly Modern DSP

Misc: Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Dusty Durango polka dotted ribbon, Silver brads, word window punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch

Tip: After stamping the flower image.  Punch a 1" circle in a piece of vellum to make a mask.  Lay the vellum mask on your stamped image and place the hole where you want it.  Now ink up a sponge with your ink and add ink to card through the hole. When you remove the vellum mask you will have your sponged circle…cool eh?

Well it's almost midnight so I better hit the sack.  Jeff and I are gonna do some shopping tomorrow, I am on a mission to find me a big skillet to match my dutch oven, and he has some hunting stuff to buy, just so you don't all run to your hubbies and say "look how nice Jeff is, he goes skillet shopping with Diana", cause really if he didn't need to get his "man" stuff, he would not be going. In fact, I wouldn't doubt if he dropped me off at MY store and came back to pick me up…ha!

Have an awesome Saturday, and thanks for stopping in!

So glad you had a "me" day. I got a French pedicure right before my surgery so my feet would look pretty and they made me take off the polish on my left foot. So I have been rolling around with one foot that looked very nice and one that looked UGLY but now they both look ugly. lol. Can't wait for the day I get another pedicure. Love the dragonfly card and the colors. The new embossing folder is the bomb! Can't wait to see the rest of the cards you made. Happy shopping……

Oh you so deserve a ME day. I love this card and will have to CASE it. Then I can say I got it from Di who got it from MAMA who got it from who knows. But isn't that the way it is? Have a great time going on the hunt for that great skillet.

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
