Happy Mother’s Day!

This 'n' That

9 May

DSCN1648 copy

I am so lucky, I have four Mums.  I have my Mum Linda Fox in Canada, and I love and miss her so much.  I also have my Granny Beryl Lightfoot in Canada and she was like a Mum to me and my little sister growing up (she is my Mum's Mum).  I love and miss her so much too. I have my Mother-in-law (but she seems like just my Mum and I ignore the in-law part) Darlene Gibbs in Illinois and I love and miss her so much too.  I also have MAMMa, my Arizona Mum Marlene, I have sort of adopted Marlene as my surrogate Mum.  I love her so much too.  I am so lucky to have all my Mum's in my life.  I wish my Mums and Granny all lived closer so I could see all of them more, and I would love to get the four of them all together.

So Mum, Mum, Granny and MAMMa – Happy Mother's Day to all of you.  We love you very very much!

I got this beautiful card the other day in the mail from my friend Ellie Wilkins, she is such a sneaky girl, she even addressed the envelope Mrs. Jeff Gibbs, he got a kick out of that.  I don't think she has addressed it like that before, and at first I was like hmmm…they don't know my  name…no return address…then I looked at the hand writing better and I was like "it's Ellie!".

So make sure to call your Mum's, your Mom's, your Mother's, your MAMMa's, whatever you call your Mum.  Give them some love near or far. If your Mum is no longer with you, then sit in a chair close your eyes and talk to her in your mind. I like to think that the people that have passed on know when we are thinking of them.  I talk to my Poppa every day, and I hope he knows it.

Beautiful Hand Stamped card by Ellie Wilkins – Thanks Ellie! You are the Best!!

So today Jeff and I did some running around, he got his fishing stuff, I got my skillet.  I got the same brand, but the lid handle is a little different, and I just have to live with that. (Jeff just rolls his eyes)  It will be ok. The world will not stop revolving cause the lid handle does not match exactly, no one will notice but me…but then I will gracefully point it out to them in case they did notice and are wondering in their head, gee does Diana know the handles are different? and I will apologize that they don't match. They will hope that what ever I have is not contagious. But if Jeff has not caught it after all these years, you are safe.

I even made coconut macaroons from a recipe I just saw on-line and ugh.  Won't make those again, I should have just ate the coconut right out the bag made the ones I usually do but I wanted to try something new. I really need to go through my recipe book, try the recipe, if I like it write it up nice, and put in a box, and if the recipe sucks…get rid of it.  Ok, so where do I get 5 more hours in a day? Anyone?

So somehow I have wrenched my neck and I can barely move my head.  Jeff has hurt his back neck area, so we have been Icy Hotting each other.  I can't even say we were doing anything fun to get hurt, neither of us know what we did to do it…other then get old. Maybe we have by accident switched pillows…hmmmm…. I was laughing and saying "this foreplay is a lot different then when we were younger".  Oops! too much information!

Well I am gonna head to bed early with my book. I finished Odd Thomas, and it was so good.  I am now going to start "Burned".

Have a blessed Sunday, I hope all you Mum's out there get lots of love.

Thanks for stopping in!

OO that card is pretty. I like the bright colours. Maybe your new skillet is too heavy and you wrenched your neck carrying it in the house! And how heavy was Jeff's fishing/hunting stuff? I always find it's not when you are doing the thing that is gonna make your neck or back hurt…it is the day after when you are doing something that you do every day ( like wiping your a**) that is when the back goes out or the neck gets kinked – why can't it go out when you are doing the activity – then at least you would not do it any more…or at least stretch or something before you do it!
    Luv ya
    Happy Mother's Day.

Happy Mother's to all the Mom's! In my eyes it's the best job in the world and I am proud to be a Mom/Oma.

So Diana…I'm curious…is your Granny Lightfoot related to Canadian singing artist Gordon Lightfoot?

I love your talking about everyone so special in your life. I miss my mom and am so happy when I see people that appreciate what they have. We went over to step daughter's house for a luncheon today so that was nice. I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day.

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
