Faux Pas

This 'n' That

7 May

DSCN1629 copy

No that is not a new technique. It is just that when I watch the cooking shows, which I love by the way. I cringe when I see the chefs with nail polish on.

I mean I have nothing against nail polish, the darker the better (as I am wearing OPI's Lincoln Park after Dark as we speak), but when I am watching a person cook or bake on TV, one night I was watching a cake show and the girl was making these little people or something and rolling dough around in her fingers and all her black nail polish was chipped and I am like "eww, is that in the food?"

So another one of the cards from my Stamp a Stack is this one, and I got the idea from Christina Meikle and I am so bad I just saved the picture with her name but not where I got it.  I changed it just a tad, but I really liked the look and feel of this card.

So I watched Private Practice tonight, and oh that ended not good eh? Gee guess who is watching next week?  I guess this must be the end of the season as Vampire Diaries is the end of the season next week too.  One show I don't understand is The Big Bang Theory. Does anyone watch this, and is it funny, I saw a bit of it a few times and it just looks stupid.  Also the episode I saw had the girl that played Roseannes daughter Darlene and her boyfriend from the show, and what? they are still playing teenagers?

I am gonna have supper with my friend Mandy tonight at the Deli then it is off to a class at MAMMa's.  Fun stuff!

Have an awesome Friday and thanks for stopping in!

I find Big Bang theory one of the funniest shows on TV right behind Modern Family. I taught for 34 years. The show accurately depicts the behavior of my very highly intelligent students, especially those with Autism or Aspergers. Think Rain Man. We also have Fermi lab nearby with many -literally- of the world's most brilliant physicists. The characters are spot on for those geniuses. GIve it a chance. Watch a few times and it gives you a different view to the variety of human beings needed to populate this world of ours.

This is a very pretty card. The colours are so soft. I do not have this set, but have seen many nice creations with it. I haven not been watching Private Practice cause well you know me…I can't start watching a show in the middle of the series so I have to find the first season and start from there! Big Bang Theory is hilarious!!! And they are not playing teenagers!!! They are rocket scientists! The guy that used to play David on Roseanne likes the blond that lives across the hall – I think they are sleeping together now – and the girl that played Darlene on Roseanne was dating (not sure if she still is) the nerdy looking dark haired dude. It's a really funny show. It just cracks me up.
You should check out some clips on You tube – I think you will like it.
    Luv ya

Hi Di. I don't like to see people cooking with jewelry on either. I guess it's the nurse in me. As much as I like Paula Deen, she always has rings on. I don't get Big Bang Theory either but someone told me if you didn't start watching it from the beginning then you would not understand the characters. Love the card. Happy Friday!

OMG Big Bang is the funniest show on TV! The geeks are physicists and scientists, super smart, but struggling with the conventions of society. Hilarious!

Great card Di!! Love the colours and how soft it is! I really do need to get this set 🙂

I am with you on the nail polish-wearing chefs & bakers on tv. I also have a thing about them wearing rings….eeuwww, they dig their hands around in things like dough, or raw meat, and I wonder what bacteria is harboured in their ring that might come out into the food….blech!

I just started watching Vampire Diaries with my daughter and can't believe next week is the end of the season…..

Have a great day, thanks for posting all your wonderful creations, they are always beautiful!

Di – does Jeff watch BBT? It is exactly like the engineers at Honeywell 🙂 My sister won't watch it because it hits too close to home! I love it! Like the card too, but I always like 'em.

Diana, I enjoy reading your blog everyday, you are so much fun. The Big Bang Theory is one of the funniest shows I've ever seen along with Two and a Half Men. I'm not much into the Vampire stuff, but I loved all the Odd books, and I can't wait for you to read P.S. I Love You, because it is so very different from the movie. I liked the book much better, and when I watch the movie, the actors are just not how I imagined the characters to be. I've been waiting for you to get to it to see what your take on it is from the movie to book perspective vs. book to movie. Meanwhile I'll just keep enjoying your ramblings, beautiful cards and informative tutorials. Thanks, Carol

OK, the card is great. I have had to use it a bunch lately for funerals. Yech. But it is a wonderful set to have for them. Have a great time tonight and will catch up with you later.

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
