Thankful

This 'n' That

DSCN1374 copy

Today is going to be a roller coaster of emotions day.

For one, a dear friend of mine that I met 6 years ago through Stampin' Up! passed away last weekend, and her funeral is in the morning.  Virginia was 71, and was diagnosed with Mesothelioma 16 months ago, and she fought it bravely, and with such dignity, she even emailed me not that long ago and she was on the balcony on vacation, she loved to travel.

Virginia never missed a class until a few months ago.  At class she always told everyone that she was my professional student since she never missed a class, and because she drove for probably an hour and a half to get to my house, and even if she did not know what we were doing at class, she would sign up every time.  In fact, I am smiling as I think about this, years ago I used to supply the SNAIL at class, but then those 10/10/20 classes I was going through it like crazy, one of my other customers that has now become a dear friend (Hi Linda!) suggested that I start making people bring their own SNAIL, so I was like ok, and from then on I do.  I remember Virginia saying "boy I am so glad you have us bring our own SNAIL now, cause I hated that I used so much of yours", cause Virginia sure loved her SNAIL.

I am so lucky to have met her, she was so caring, and she was a great Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Friend, if I can be half as good a person as she was, I will be happy.  Those Monday classes just won't be the same, we all will miss her very much.

As soon as the funeral is over I have a workshop to go to, so then my feelings will be happy cause I love to do this, and like Betty said Virginia will be happy I am doing what I love, cause she loved to stamp herself so much.  Faye, my hostess, is expecting 27-30 people so that will be a fun crowd.  I have not met any of them yet, so it will be exciting to meet some new faces.

Oh and then I will come home from my workshop and maybe my hubby will have supper cooked or something, cause well…it is my Birthday and all.

So have a great Saturday, hug your family, call a friend you have not seen in a while, and put a smile on both of your faces.

Thanks for stopping in!

Happy Birthday, Diana! I don't usually leave blog comments, but I wanted you to know that I love your blog. I love your stamping, I love reading about your family, I love your attitude, I love your sense of humor! Whether I read your entry first thing in the morning or late at night, I always get a warm feeling. If we were grade-school classmates, I'd walk right up to you and ask you to be my friend! Instead, I'll just let you know that you're a bright spot in my computer-day, and I wish you a wonderful birthday and great year ahead. XO Gail Murray XO

Di…I am sooooo sorry for your loss. I haven't lost a friend yet and am so not looking forward to it because I do not take death well. I am so scared of my own death! I hope you can get through it. On a happy not, I am excited for you that you have 30 new customers WOW I can't even get one but that's okay I am holding my own and maybe God has something in store for me. I started a new job and one of my co-workers came over yesterday and was in awe of my stamping supplies so much she wants to get the other girls in the office over to stamp she is working towards the birdcage decor elements that is a LEVEL 3!!! Keep your fingers crossed.

Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of loss!!!!

    Inky Hugs,
    Terry~~
