Technique Lover’s Class – My BFF Tracy’s Crystal Effects Pin

3-D Items

6 Apr

Diana pin close

Boy that title was a mouthful wasn't it?  I have lots to share today, not much talking just lots of pictures.

There is a little neighbor girl and she is the youngest of four kids, and when she was younger Jeff would always get her name wrong, she loves horses so one day she told him "just call me Mustang and I'll call you Jack" so that is what they call each other.  So anyway, Jack, I mean Jeff was puttering out in the barn and started whittling and cutting on a piece of stemwall plywood and this is what he made for Mustang.Jeffs horse

a cool horse, this is both sides of it.  Not too bad eh? I love the different wood colors.

So my BFF Tracy has made me a few Crystal Effects Pins and when I was figuring out my next Technique Lover's Class, Donna and Connie said "let's make a pin". Can I tell you how much I love suggestions? In fact, I have a whole list written up from when I was asking everyone for suggestions for my blog.

Here are a few pins that Tracy has made me:

Tracy's pumpkin pin
A Pumpkin

Tracys basket pin
A cute basket of tulips and a birdie

Tracys shoe pin
I think this is my favorite, an old set with shoes.

So I wanted to do a flower, and when you make a pin you have to be careful on size cause you can not make this big pin, well unless you have a big chest to pin it on, but basically you want it to be a nice size and you want something that you can make 3-d-ish. So I picked Fifth Avenue Floral, and pretty cool that it is on special this month too at 20% off.

So this is what I whipped up for class.

Diana pin full
The picture does not do it justice or any of the other pins, you really have to see them in person.

Stamp Set: Fifth Avenue Floral

Ink: Jetblack Stazon, So Saffron

Paper: So Saffron, Basic Black, Sweet Pea DSP

Misc: Curly Label punch,5 petal flower punch, Trio Flower punch, silver duo beads, crystal effects

So hopefully the girls will like it.

Well I'm off of here for tonight, have a lovely Tuesday and thanks for stopping in!

Jeff's carving is gorgeous and the shading in the wood makes the horse look like a paint. He did a great job on it and I am sure that Mustang will treasure it! I love the pin and it turned out awesome too!!

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
