Easter Easel Box Tutorial

3-D Items· Tutorials/Tips

19 Mar

Before we get to the tutorial, I want to give a great big SHOUT OUT! to my two biggest fans in Alpena Michigan, let's here it for Denise & Kristen (crowd cheers!!!) They are teachers and will be starting March Break soon and I didn't want them to miss this cute tutorial, so this tute's for you girls! (sending ya big hugs!! and a mwah!!)

Here are the measurements, since it might have been hard to follow on the video.

The box or tray is 4" x 4" and then I scored it 1/2" on each side.

The Belly Band is 7 1/2" x 3", and it is scored at 3", 3 1/2", 6 1/2" and 7" (added since original post…sometimes the belly band is tight on the box/tray depending on what you score with, so you might need to score it and add a "dit" so the belly band is a teensy bit bigger then the box – just practice with scrap paper)

The Easel part is 6" x 3", and it is scored at 1 1/2" and 3"

The card that gets decorated and attached to the easel part is 3' x 3"

So what I did was just figure out how many turds raisin-ettes I wanted to put in the tray and then did my measuring from there. Here is the original post.

This is basically the same technique we used for the Top Note Desktop Drawer. So now you can make any size basically.

Well this old gal is headed to bed, our nephew Bobby has been visiting from Illinois, so today we fiddle farted around, I took him to the Deli for lunch and had a great time.  I told him I am gonna kidnap him, adopt him and change his name to Philip.  He is in the National Guard and will be going into active duty here soon so it has been nice having this week with him, he's a good "kid" and we are gonna miss him.

Have an awesome Friday and thanks for stopping in!

This is adorable – will have to give it a try. Also you made me laugh when you said "fiddle farted". I haven't used that word in a very long time. I've missed it! You are too, too funny!

Just completed the project, it was so easy to follow!!! I noticed it was a really tight fit for the base bottom to fit into the belly band. I made the base box 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 which made it easier for the base box to slide into the belly band. Now I am able to use both the 4 x4 base bottom and 3 3/4 x 3 3/4… Thanks for such a wonderful project!!!

OMGosh! I thought I was the only one in the world who still said "fiddle farted"! One more reason why I love ya! We speak the same language!

Great tutorial, btw and I love the project – now I have one more thing to try darn it!

Hi Di, First of all, thanks for sharing such a neat tutorial! What a cute little box! BUT, imagine my surprise when you said it was for two of your friends from Alpena, Michigan! I graduated from Alpena HS many moons ago! 🙂 It was just too awesome to see my hometown mentioned in someones blog!

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
